This guitar is literally 270 clams......chump change for what you get.It is not like my old addiction buying $1500-$3000 guitars. These guitars are priced so insanely low you should not even have to tell your wives.Learned my lesson when I got divorced in 1993.To me having a wife was like living a prison sentence. No offense to the married guy's but for me i'm just saying it did not work for me.Rock on !

These guitars are priced so insanely low you should not even have to tell your wives. They might object to the cluttering of the living room with things that look a lot like a man's toys. Or with cases that pile up in corners making rooms ugly. It's fine if there is a spare room for them. Now imagine having a drumming wife who just put another drumkit in the entrance "because it was such a bargain"

I forgot who it was and can't find it anymore, but there was a guy who's played many many HBs and when he played the TE-90QM he said it was the most output he'd heard in an HB. However, it's not exactly a metal-looking guitar and I don't remember if it was before or after they changed to Roswell.
Edit: That was probably the least helpful post I've ever made

This reminds me of a conversation I overheard at the barbers at the weekend. The barber asked a young guy in the chair, "Out with the missus tonight?" "A missus? What's one of those? 'Where are you? Why are you there? Whatchoo doing that for?' I don't need that!"

Yep, figure 300 clams after shipping. It's on my radar for my next possible HB purchase. Maybe snag a SC-500 or SC-450 Plus.

When I talk about buying a new guitar, HBs prices makes things much easier for sure ! Though, I'm the kind of guy who needs someone to put him limitations, boundaries. My wife is fulfilling this role perfectly. She knows guitars are my passion and she accepts me to dive into it, but not to spent our money in it or to invade the whole house with axes as I could do And I love her, and I respect her, so I accept the rules and everything's fine

Hey Taurash, I have a SC Custom as well. I was also unimpressed with the stock pups so I dropped an EMG81 in the bridge and love the results. Super easy and the nice thing when you buy an EMG you get the new volume & tone pots included, so that was a good upgrade.

I guess legend is not a legend Since I put the EMG 81/60 in my SC 1000 for the purpose of my last video, I have kept them. And I'm not afraid to say that this budget friendly HB sounds MUCH better with these pups than an LTD EC 1000 (and I know what I'm talking about, I've had an LTD EC 1000 )

What's nice with all the HBs I've had or tried is the fact that the electronic cavity is wide. You have much enough space to put a 9V battery inside.

If they are, I wonder what makes the difference in sound.

So brittle that the screw that hold the strap lock on the neck side came out of the guitar one day when I was playing standing ! The EC-1000 in general is much thinner than the HB SC-1000. The Benton is 15mm thicker and I'm sure it makes a big difference in tone. The thickness brings more low end and I like having low end. Especially with an EMG 81, which tone is full of trebble and hi-mids.

Fret and sadle material, in direct contact with strings, does impact tone. Maybe the HB has softer metal.
