I’m seriously looking at a Monoprice Stage Right 15w tube amp. I can’t find a thing wrong with it and the price is great at $249. Has anyone had any experience with these? There’s also a Blackheart Little Giant 5w/3w 12” tube amp locally for $100. I was considering it, but there’s no reverb and doesn’t seem to have the features the Stage Right app has. I’m in no hurry. I don’t need much as I’m not gigging with it. I currently only have an Orange Micro Terror stack and I just wanted something a little different.

I have one I bought a couple of years ago. They were a really good deal and you could catch them on sale quite often, I think I paid $169 for mine with free shipping. Now with all this China Trade war stuff going on I guess they went up in price. I had a tube that was glasssy when it arrived so I just changed all the tubes out with some JJ's. The reverb is a real spring reverb wich works ok for a small size amp. The Tolex is thin and cuts or tears pretty easily. It's got a Celestion 70/80 speaker and is stiff when new but a decent speaker once it breaks in. Not quite as good a deal as they used to be, but there's still not much out there in that price range.

I also found a bad solder joint in my amp that I repaired. It's back up and working fine now. And I don't think that's a reflection on the Amps quality, It happens. There are a lot of good used amps in that $250 range. I bought a Black Star 20 Studio combo for $280 from a local GC about a month ago. There is going to be a lot used gear dumped on the market cheap because of the world wide shut down. Personally I would be looking at used gear.

Back up my Hard Drive? How do I put it in reverse?

I had one for about a week and had to return it. The Tolex (cheap vinyl) was peeling in every direction possible. The cut butt joints were pulling apart showing large gaps. For about a day I considered recovering it but knew that would void the warranty and kill a return if needed. Good thing I considered that. The reverb went out and for unknown reason the amp did not sound the same from one power on to the next. I knew then it had to go back. The Monoprice quality assurance program needs some assurance! By pure luck I found a used Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12 60 watt amp for $150.00 more. If the Monoprice had not died on me so fast I would have missed that deal.Wouldn't have been looking. Thomann was or is trying sell its version last I looked but never saw them in stock. i have a gut feeling Thomann may not accept poor quality if too many are bad and decide not to offer the Amp if its below expectations too often. The one I got would have been a embarrassment to Thomann. Since Monoprice has jacked the price up one would assume they raised quality but I have no idea. You can get a used "real brand" Amp for not much more. You can also get a new Fender or similar Blues Jr size Amp for not a huge price difference.
