I ordered it from Rguitars , it's an Ex Demo model for £348 + £15 delivery. How was dealing with and importantly international shipping from Richard's Guitars Martin, the UPS (?) misdirection mishap notwithstanding? I'm interested in buying guitars internationally from his business sometime in the future if he's as attention to detail and packs well etc as implied by his demeanour in his vids.

Dealing with them was excellent, first rate customer service. It wasn't international shipping though. The guitar was packed well, box inside a box, the internal box was fixed in place with card and bubble wrap

Thank for the reply Martin. UPS shipping threw me. Anything Fedex, UPS or DHL in my neck of the woods is indicative of international origin.

I like the shape as well 👍 it's not a bad blue I had a Ford Sierra years ago that was what we dubbed invalid blue! You know that horrible shade of blue early invalid car/trike things were. I'll be interested to know how it performs and your likes or dislikes as you get to know it. It took me a while but I've finally got around to it! It's a very nice guitar, sadly I can't provide measurements but the neck isn't too thick or too thin feeling. The scale length (25") feels quite comfortable. The reach on upper frets is bad, anything past the 18th fret, but I don't think it's really intended as a shredder's guitar anyway. I think the nut and bridge are both great, never had an Aluminium nut before. The location of the strap button is a little odd, but I haven't had the strap pop off yet. I think the pick ups sound great. The concentric knobs feel a bit crappy to me but they work.

Sounds good MartinB 👍 Is the neck pocket/joint the reason for bad reach past 18th fret? The lipstick pups generally are lowish output but do sound very good. Again not sure the correct word to use to describe their sound but you can get some interesting tones. What sort of stuff have you been playing with it? Is it versatile enough? Can it chug? 😜 If I'm not mistaken it's a similar one to what Jimmy Page used for slide stuff with zeppelin. Does look a very cool guitar.

Yeah, I don't really know the right way to describe them, I've been playing all the music shed stuff on it, nothing too demanding, we're doing it via videochat at the moment and I'm playing it unplugged, it has a pretty good sound unplugged, very resonant.
I don't know if it chugs, I could always try out some Pantera on it, I suspect the pickups just aren't quite right, but I can give it a go in the middle position.

That's good the shed thing by video MartinB. I haven't jammed with mates for ages this social distancing is messing up loads of things. But if it's for good of people's health you got to abide by it.

Yeah, this whole virus shutdown has messed up a lot of stuff. But like you say, we have to take the medicine. I took a picture to illustrate the problems with the fret access. I guess it's the point where the cuts are?

I'm not sure that us guys in the Music shed sound fantastic, but we definitely get the social benefits from our little video sessions.
