Hopefully it will do the job DefJef, a very good buy if it does. That's unusual alnico 5's sounding like that.

I didn't like the ceramic pups in my blue Squier strat. It's weird though how supposedly the guitars or pups are the same but don't always sound the same. Then again there are too many variables in components and manufacture.

I've had 2 Biyang pedals and still have one, the Mouse. There was nothing wrong with the Phaser I had I'm just really fiddly with modulation effects. No doubt I'll be getting another mod. pedal at some point.
I would expect it to be a carbon copy of some more famous pedal, that seems to be their M.O.

According to those links I posted about a year ago on padal clones. Your eq is a clone of the boss 7. If you want to check that thread/links out you can find it. 🤔

I'm no expert but I think if the main circuit is the same it's still a clone DefJef. The buffer part is an addition stage of the pedal circuit. I heard and also seen videos where they love the pedal but not the buffer. I do wonder if the clone builders leave buffers out to take advantage of this as a selling point. If you read about the klon they reckon no two sound exactly the same. I don't know if that's truth or myth? But most pedals are clones or adaptations of a previous circuit. Sometimes the clone or adaptation is better than the original. There are said to be some good buffers and some that supposedly suck tone. I suppose it's down to the individuals perception, some appear to rave about the boss buffers in boss pedals. Others seem to generally dislike them. Hopefully you will be OK with the one you just bought. I think it's harder than choosing a guitar. 🤔

I liked my old BF-2 Flanger and my Blues Driver, the others I've had I was less enamored with.
