Sorry to rehash an old topic ... www.thomannmusic.com/harley_benton_het_550_aw.htmHell no !!! $285 US for a Harley Benton? I guess they're trying to climb up the price ladder ... but no way I'm doing $285 + $32 shipping. I need something to pair with the HB Vintage 1x12 speaker cabinet to help offset the price of shipping ... but this ain't it. Very disappointed.

It looks like it comes with gold hardware in the Harley Benton video instead of chrome in Agufish's?

My son is bonkers over Explorer-style guitars, and I've been wanting to get him one for a while, but there's NOTHING out there that's what I consider affordable. Used Epi explorers are still $400+ in most cases, so I got excited when I saw these, then disappointed when I heard that they were going to be $400. At $300, I jumped right in. I ordered the one with the black pickguard yesterday in hopes that it will get here before my son's birthday in mid June. This guitar may be a bit more expensive than other Harley Bentons, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper than any other Explorer that I can get. The next step up from this is the Chapman Ghost Fret, which is rumored to be the exact same body from the same OEM, and it's $600. For $300 I can't see what there is to complain about this guitar. It looks great, it's got locking grover tuners, and in HB's demo, it sounded fantastic. If it's set up as well as my CST-24T was, then it's going to be a great guitar.
