lol, not a bad approach!
Now the stock status is less than a week, time to make up my mind. Maybe it's just easier to flip a coin between the Lemon Flame and the VB Have you considered the SC-550 Paradise Amber Flame? It has the hotter Roswell HAF pickups:
EDIT: I see Leo mentions it on page 1.

Hello, On my black sc-custom, the binding is definitely on the white side rather than yellowish. I have it since 2-3 months. Fred.

Well, this for me is a big point in favor of the VB then 😁
I was almost sold for the Ocean flame, but now...

I just ordered the Lemon Flame, Thomann says in stock any day now Also probably going to go with lemon flame. To be honest, I am not a fan of any paint job on the SC customs, but not really willing to drop an extra 70+ eur on a SC 550. At least the honey flame looks kinda like a gold top from a distance. Maybe someone can answer this - what justifies the 35% premium on the SC 550 vs the SC custom? Spec wise, they seem on a similar level.

Actually not much I think, quite the contrary, you miss split coils and Grover tuners on the 550. Other than minor aesthetic or body feel differences (which go to personal taste), there's not much in the hardware it seems. The 550 has different pickups, with higher output - which is not objectively a plus, it's about personal preference again. Same applies to the separate tone controls. According to some pics and vids the 550 seems to have a higher quality maple top. Probably there's something in the body woods as well, but imho still too little to justify the extra price. Unless you love the looks of the 550, which could be fairly legit.

I compared an SC-550 and an SC-Custom and found that the overall quality (finish, workmanship, playability, setup, bone nut) felt on a higher level with the first one. YMMV of course. This is not a scientific comparison, just a personal experience. Even with the higher price it's still a killer deal, so I'd go with the 550.
Edit: please don't get me wrong. In NO way I'm saying the SC-Custom is subpar. Great guitar.

Sure, I got what you mean and I agree.
What I've found out as well is that usually once you go past a certain price point (which varies from brand to brand), where the hardware components are decent enough, what changes the most on guitars is the "feel" and the "ease" they offer to your hands when playing, rather than the specs.

I received the VB SC Custom some days ago Haven't had much time to play it through the amp, I basically just checked that everything worked fine and adjusted the setup and stuff to my tastes. I will post a review in some time, after I get familiar with it.
