Hi! I am a happy owner of B-35NT-FL bass (acoustic fretless 5-string). I bought it a week ago and it plays well, but has a problem with the pickup. The low B string has got a very weak signal, like 10 dB less than other strings.
I pulled off the saddle and checked the sensors - all of them are working fine. I suppose it's a matter of shape and the saddle is having a bad contact with the sensor. I tried taping a litle bit of aluminium foil, but it's a lot of trying and each try is like a 10-minute run, as I need to take the strings off.
Do you have any ideas for this?
Cheers

Have you tried flipping the piezo so the G contact was under B?

The pickup is built into the bridge. Removing the saddle is the furthest dissasembly I can do.
I've got a number of theories, why it may be the case: 1. The saddle has bad contact with the string itself and needs a little bit of routing, so the string may transfer the vibrations more effectively; 2. That one sensor is broken (hope not!) 3. The saddle has a bad contact (but thickening it didn't help much) 4. Any ideas?

I am pretty sure it is a strip piezo but I may be wrong (it's a long time since I looked at it).
Are you sure the saddle is sitting all the way down on the piezo, as in, it is not sticking in the wood route and not seating properly?
Just .5mm would be enough for it to cause issues.
I would try making a thinner saddle out of something temporarily and trying it. If that fixes the issue, then you can thin your saddle down slightly.
Also check the route for any small imperfection that could be causing it not to seat.
