Hey folks! New to the forum and the new HB JA-60 arrived yesterday. Would have posted sooner, but too busy playing it! Was going to write a big ole review but thought I'd stick to bullet points for now.
- Very cheap - Does not look or feel very cheap - Very comfortable to play - The neck is really nice. REALLY nice. Less chunky than a Fender and nice satin finish. - Nicely balanced for sitting and standing. Body is weighty without being back-breaking. (Pretty sure it's heavier than a JM, but is slightly smaller bodied so would work out the same. Maybe someone can correct me on this...) - The Sunburst finish is quality. Really nice and you can see the grain through it which I like. - Pick-ups are awesome. Great clarity and a nice growl to them when you work them. - Very playable out of the box. Holds tuning well (thankyou LP-style bridge). - Action was great for my tastes. Don't like it too low and there were no buzzing frets or dead-sounding areas. - If anyone was wanting a guitar that looks a little different and is versatile, attractive and great to play this is the one. - So good that I took my Fender strat off my guitar wall and put this up instead.
Bargain. Hopefully someone finds this helpful if they are considering one. I am going to go play it some more.

Congrats, it's a great guitar for sure. And it looks the part!
The only thing it's sorely missing IMHO is a tremolo bar. That's why I bought a Revelation Jazzmaster instead.

I also got my sunburst JA-60 recently. I bought it used, so I have the former version with wilkinson soapbar P90s. After some setup to lower action, I'm quite happy with it.
The only point is I wanted to change some pickguard screws and I bought some Fender ones, only to realize the size is different. The JA60 has smaller pickguard screws.... Does anyone know what size it is and where to get them from?

Ebay, dozens of Chinese sellers sell them cheap. Fender screws are usually Imperial (measurements), most Asian guitars components are Metric. Probably why the screws are different sizes.

You basically need to pop one out and measure it. Take a note of the head style and driving recess then do a shopping search. As blindwilly3fingers says, it will likely be a metric measurement.

I really like my JA-60 LH OW "Tempest" modded... If I find the same in Sunburst LH, I think I'll buy it for a 60's Italian 4-PU guitar project ! And yes, the threads are ISO/Metric. Cheers,

Nice tremolo, I love it. Did you drill the guitar or used the adaptor?
