very low headphone volume

Someone can explain to me why with Fender mustang IV (master 5 volume 5) I have an excellent output (Akg 16 ohm headphones), while with Marshall code 100h (master 10 volume 5) the output is much lower, thanks.

A similar situation I had with Blackstar id core 20 but not so bad.


Do You know a tube 5w amplifier that no have this problem ?

What do You think about bugera g5 infinium ?

I'm no expert on this, when I was looking at amps a couple of years back. I was told certain amps headphone output have a sort of cab simulation but a lot are poor low volume outputs. I don't know if that's correct description for it? Hopefully someone can clarify or not. I did try an orange micro amp and that was not a good headphone out put so that was a no no.

Could it be headphone impedence?

I had an ID Core and recording it direct was hopeless as the level always seemed too low...to say nothing of ever understanding its USB connectivity...and mic-ing it was a complete no-no too because of all that hiss!!

Thanks, probably the solution must be "cab simulation". Certainly no is my case i have 16ohm impedance. It is low enough for a headphone so it should generate more output. The fact is that between blackstar id core, marshall valvestate 2000, marshall code and fender mustang IV, only the latter has the right output. It will be a problem to choose a 5w tube head without being able to hear it first. Does anyone have Bugera g5 infinum? This has cab simulation for headphones, but will it have an output like the Fender?

With regards to the headphone volume we follow the consumer standards, to achieve a higher volume you would need to purchase and use a headphone amplifier.

Today received Positive Grid Spark and headphones outpul level it's more than acceptable !

So if you want to listen to something with headphones, don't buy Marshall
