I'm amazed at the guitars you have provided at these prices. The Luthiers, the designers, the coatings team, the interaction with Thomann sales, the engineering completely involved, the shipping! All is just blowing my mind. I'm really curious to ask, can you make a Tobacco Sunburst SC 500 with the C neck, square inlays, black pick guard with pickup frames, and the gold hardware? Can I make a Custom request? 500k pots, 4 knobs, 50's wiring. .022 Bridge, .015 neck Capacitors, Alnico V pickups. I love my Lemon Sunburst, I'm purchasing the SC 500 BK Vintage too. Your neck to body mating design is a dream come true. I'm just looking for that one guitar finish and all. Nobody makes it yet. But that's what I always wanted from a single cut.
Could be the white pick guard accents too but definitely the dense black fret board with the square inlays on the C neck with gold hardware in a sweet sunburst. Can I make a custom request? I'm daring to dream. I know the logistics with gold hardware is a total bitch. But, I figured I would ask. I'd be more than happy to pay $400 US per unit with the same quality of the Lemon Sunburst SC Custom II. Thank you for your time Harley Benton group. Best regards ~ Chris

I think you have maybe misunderstood what this forum is. We're just fans of Harley Benton guitars, I don't think any of us has input on the manufacturing process?

Agree with MartinBkewltoyz021, if you want someone from Thomnn / Harley Benton to read this, you can send them an email or leave a Feedback on Thomann's Website. They generally do answer

I am wondering though, has anyone found a good thick pickup guard to match the cream pickup frame locations on an SC Custom II? I've been wanting one but there are issues trying to find the right fit. Also has to clear the volume knob locations. Standard LP guards can't work.

You mean a pickguard/scratchplate kewltoyz021 ? I don't think you'll find one. The SC-Custom II has a different knob layout to a standard Les Paul which means the first knob is closer to the neck than even the bridge is, so it would foul a standard LP scratchplate (or vice versa). So you are sure to need to do some trimming of any plate you can find. Not impossible to do tough since the pickups seem to be closer together on the SC-II than they are on a standard Les Paul. Could be worth getting hold of a template from a Les Paul and then create your own card one to experiment with to see how it could all work. Keep an eye on where that metal bracket and screw hole may end up though.

Yeah that's the issue I ran into bro. The neck volume knob location makes it a no fly zone for standard Les Paul guards lol I just like it to rest my picking hand at times as a reference point. I'm older and I've always had a high metabolism with intermittent palsy. I can pick from a stable point perfectly, but I can't just do brain surgery precision in empty space.

I agree with you kewltoyz021 . I do a mixture of fingerpicking, clawhammer and plectrum stuff and need that finger rest point. I find the height of the strings off the body of a Les Paul style guitar just too much. Mind you I also find tun-o-matic saddles uncomfortable under my palm too. The other night I was considering getting a Squier Cyclone in shell pink till I realised I virtually had one in my HB MS60-VW. Playing that HB for a while I was able to reassess it and recognised that I would prefer it with a Mustang bridge just for palm comfort. Well either that or I was just looking for a way to justify getting the Cyclone!
