Harley benton has been teasing us with a new guitar in instagram and facebook. Looks like a thinline tele. Any bet? Single coils or humbuckers? http://instagram.com/p/CisN5U2KAhr

Let's see if the semi-hollowness will aliviate some of the heavy weight complaints on the TE52. Curious about the bridge pick up sound. Looking forward to some reviews.
I used to have a Fender Thinline MIM '69 Reissue which I sold cause I got never used to the 7.5 radius. This one is flattler.

The guy in the video says it has two single coil pick ups. Doesn't talk about nor show any push pull humbucker... The description on the site says the pick up config is the following as of now... It was not like that some days ago. Neck pickup: Roswell THE Alnico-5 vintage TE -style singlecoil, Bridge Pickup: Roswell TEK-B Alnico-5 Stacked Humbucker (Push/Pull Split) TE Pickup
That makes more sense to me, since it is Hot Rod...

Let's see if the semi-hollowness will aliviate some of the heavy weight complaints on the TE52. The comparison tool on the Thomann site shows the shipped weight of the TE-52 as 4.5 kg and the TE-69TL as 3.8 kg. If that is accurate, the TE-69TL could be 0.5-0.75 kg lighter. That would be a significant difference. Well ... I freely acknowledge that the TE -52 is "Lead Zeppelin" (Mine weighs 10.2 lbs ) But I still love her , and her equally heavy sister ! But it would seem her skinny cousin, will come in at about 8.5 Lbs .. (someone weighed one at 3.83 Kg = 81/2 lbs or so . More typical of a Tele , but still a bit porky for a Thinline But she is fine ! Slap a set of noise cancelling P90's on her .... and I'm down !

Dammit Harley Benton ! I think you are engaged in a Secret Plot to tie up my Fiscal 2023 Guitar Budget with your stuff ( I was Tryin to sneak a 2d PRS S2 in there but ) With "High End Harley Benton " , A Fusion T with all the goodies being foremost ... Then a P90 platform , with the CST P90 so far my fav P90 rig ... And Now ... This durn TE 69... a skinnier version of the TE 52 I so madly love, despite her porkyness... I'm thinkin I gotta sneak one of these in ... Just because you made it. If you act on my proposed MS 60 Revision (caramelized maple 24" neck & fretboard) P-90's and Hardtail (a copy of the Fender Player Mustang 90 ) I just bought used (a first for me) Then I will know for sure !

Yes, finally the HB-Gods have heard my prayers and I can finally get one. It also has a 'normal' C-neck.

I can confirm the weight is 3.8kgs. I got it weighed.

From the single review I see on Thomann's page it seems the Thinline is about as heavy as the TE-52.... please.. for the love of the spaghetti monster, make this thing lighter. The TE-52 is a great guitar but REALLY friggn heavy. I thought I found my dream guitar but the weight keeps me from picking it up. Currently it sits next to my SSS Squier and, even if she is gorgeous, is not inviting to play.

Currently it sits next to my SSS Squier and, even if she is gorgeous, is not inviting to play. Yeah ... Well the TE 69 looks to be about 8.5 Lbs ... or as bout as much as a CV Tele ( and the first CV Tele I looked at on the Swee****er page ... 9.2 lbs !) So this TE 69 only has to only be as good as it's chubbier sister , the TE 52 to be a "homerun" in my book. I just put my 52 down to eat dinner ... But I sit, don' t gig, and don't bounce around or play with my teeth (I wonder if Jimi did that to impress the ladies ?) So I luv my TE 52's just fine. Use a wide strap (Levy cotton web 3") works fine, distributes the weight. BUT the TE 69 is 1.5 to 2 pounds lighter. I'm sure, that for $200 more, Thomann could spec the auger out to be much greater ,,,And it might be worth that. Weigh maybe 7 lbs or so... But this ain't F1 !!! I not spendin' tons of $$$ to shave off pounds.... But check out the You Tube video , where the guy, who plays the TE 69 where it is so acoustic, he forgets it is not plugged in when he hits the pickup selector switch ... and nothing happens ?A fair amount of resonance there ... for a guitar costing $170 bucks US ... My PRS Hollowbody II does that .. For $1,200 US (and its pretty hollow) ... Check it out a 7:47 into the video ...
