Hi everybody:
This is Liberto from Spain, I have assambled a Harley Benton Les Paul kit. It came with 2 humbuckers, I think Roswell.
I would like a Slash´s type of sound. It is said that he uses Seymur Duncan Alnico Pro II humbuckers wich are really expensive, 250e minimum.
Anybody has tried to get the sound of Appetite for Destruction, Lies or Use your Illusion? Anybody has tried Seymur Duncan in a Hurley Benton?
Any of you have a better choice of pick ups?
Now I have see that there´s a Slash model by Harley Benton, but I already built my own. If anybody can helpe me ...

An alternative take on it from my POV
you want to be chasing your own dream tone
But for this job you have I would go with
Irongear pickups A decent solidstate amp A decent OD/DS pedal Chorus Echo/reverb/delay pedal
This way you can turn your fx off and on by foot, and you won’t have to spend a bazillion simoleons.

As MartinB rightly points out, the whole signal chain dictates the eventual tone so even the Seymour Duncan pickups aren't going to guarantee that you get what you want. If your existing gear gets you close and you think the pickups are the weak link, Vanson Alnico II pickups get good reviews and are pretty cheap. An even cheaper option is to change the magnets in the stock pickups. Not something I've tried but it might be worth considering.

As Martin B said, Iron Gear pickups are a great option, Infact i will one step further and suggest their TeSLA SHark. They are wound to be very simular to Slash's Seymour Duncan pick-ups, and they are better priced than Setmour Duncan. The "Slash" type tone also partly comes from the classic Guitar/Amp combo, A les Paul style guitar and a Marshall/Plexi style amp. I am even thinking changing the pick-ups in my Slash Epiphone signature to the Iron Gear versions.
