Looking for a replacement nut for a TE-62, I had read that the Graph Tech TUSQ XL PT-5042-00 was a good fit…but in the last few weeks it’s become unavailable in the places I buy from… Thomann have said it is no longer available, even.
Is there a good alternative? A different Graph Tech version?
(Sorry if I’ve posted this in the wrong part of the forum, perhaps)

I’m in the UK. I haven’t removed the original nut so not sure if it’s curved or flat.

Northwest are my usual. They were out of stock, as was Thomann which was why I thought perhaps they had discontinued the nut… but now it’s looking like they are only awaiting more. I can wait.

I just put a zero glide zero fret in my fusion T since the tusq nut that came with it was cut badly. I strongly recommend. No tuning issues. I think zero fret is the answer.

The nut slot is flat.
I removed the nut on my TE-62 and I had a hell of a time getting it out of the slot. I couldn't get it to lift up a little bit at a time as I usually do. The material was very brittle and it came out in small pieces and flakes. It took a long time. Most cheap nuts I've seen are plastic. This material was almost like hardened clay. I'm not trying to discourage you from doing it, just don't get impatient and chip the surrounding wood. I see that my TE-25th has the same type of nut. I bought some 1/8" thick strips of Delrin for $12 shipped from an online industrial distributor (McMaster Carr). Enough for about 20 nuts.

I don’t really need to replace the nut so I’ll save that project for a rainy day.
