It seems that the Harley Benton GA-15 amplifier was a favourite for modders. I have seen may posts and reviews around the web and on Youtube, but I do not own this amplifier, nor do I personally know anyone who has it.
So before I post various reviews and how-to's from around the web, I thought I would ask if any of you have done any mods to this particular combo?
Here are a couple of videos from Youtube user "alnicomagnet" where he plays through a stock and a modified GA-15 side by side, just to give a taste to those who have no idea what I am talkning about...

At the moment, unfortunately not, unless you can find a used one, or they may get a b-stock one.
They do still offer a 30w tube combo, but it is double the price of the ga-15.
It is a shame because this amp was pretty popular, at least for modding. Maybe it will be back soon...

Great link Lm2. Sadly I know I would kill myself if I tried to mod a valve amp but good luck to all you technical wizards out there. Looks good.

It's a pity that the amp isn't available anymore. Looking for a small tube amp and this one would fit. Waiting now until the small bugera infinium v5 is available. Although the fame tube amp from musicstore looks fine too

Hello JAC,
I know this is a very old thread but I thought you might like to know that I have done the alnicomagnet mod.
I bought a GA15 amp and GV112 cabinet on ebay and there was a frying bacon hiss so I bought the mod and fitted it. It eliminated the hiss and now I have a very usable amp.
The mod kit is a bit expensive considering the very small amount of cost involved in the parts, but you are buying knowledge and the instructions as well. It was relative easy to fit but the instructions were, I thought, a bit confusing in parts and lacking in other parts. However I managed to do all the mods easy enough, which was an achievement considering the only soldering I had ever done was to rewire a few guitars.

Hi, I used the mod kit a few years back and it made a fantastic improvement. I now have another GA15 I would like to make better. Does anyone know where the mod kit can be obtained or can share a list of the components and instructions?
