Hello. New to the Club, new to HB guitars, new to electric guitars (previous guitars acoustic). Fiddling around with my brand new HB-35 plus and have managed to straighten the neck and lower the string action to what would be the Gibson recommended heights. I have set the pickups to the Gibson recommended starting point heights also. I am not sure that I like how it sounds. I know that every guitar is different and everyone has different playing styles and tastes but being new to this game would anyone have any tips or specific heights they like for this guitar??

Welcome and hello from USA. I have my B C Rich humbuckers set at about 3/16 inch or 3mm from the bottom of the strings. Same for the P90s on the HB TE90qm This was done after setting the string height and intonation. Not difficult at all. Remember to loosen the strings before adjustments to saddles. String gauge and material will affect the tone and pickup settings (pole piece and overall height). I prefer Ernie Ball Cobalt 10=46 on the BC and Nashville steel. Ernie Ball MSteel sound great over the P90s. If you are too high, the magnets will grab the string. Experiment. Cheers
