I have been looking at some speakers to upgrade my Kustom 20 Watts amp with a Kustom 12" 8 ohms speaker in. The combo is boomy. Its a closed back. Im struggling to get a nice tone because most of the time I play with the bass all the way down to get rid of the boomy effect but then thats not it really because the tone lacks low end.
I have two mods I could do here (I think);
1st - to get a Jensen 12" speaker which is apparently sharper sounding
2nd - to open up the back of the cab so to get less boomy/box sound
When it comes to speakers I see some Celestion and Eminence being mentioned so need your input if you know about this stuff. I have no experience with speakers.
