I don't know about you but I have a thing for the Wilkinson pups. Their humbuckers sound less mushy and more articulate than those I played on some Gibsons [and yes I'm not a Gibson pups fan at all]. And less mushiness is GOOD.
Wonder how the Harley Benton SG copy would sound with a pair of Wilkinsons...

Check out iron gear pickups, they're really cheap and get very good reviews. I emailed them regarding my Patrick eggle Vienna to replace the Kent Armstrong's and they replied very quickly.

Freekingprawn is onto something though... the Wilkinson HBs are very flexible pickups. I have a couple of guitars with Gibson 57 classics in the neck that can be a little too overpowering. Huge sounding but can muddy or even cardboard up a tone. I've found that my L450 Plus and SC450 Plus both record amazing well and tend to play better with my pedal setups.
Here's where I rain on things a little bit. I have the 3 pickup SG Custom copy with 3 Wilkinsons in it... the pickups are.... ok? Idk if it's the all mahogany guitar or just this batch of pickups but they're nothing special. I haven't played the guitar in forever but I'll dust it off and see if raising the pickups a smidge helps. It's on my short list of guitars needing a pickup upgrade with my L450GTP90. I may put all P90 in humbucker cases in neck and bridge and leave factory hum in middle. I love P90s on an Sg.

You seem to like low Henries pickups Nick, same as me. Mush more mellow, and soft to the ear. Those L-450PLus are very low like 3-4 Henries only. Thomann emailed me the specs I will try to find them.

I played it with the local bat eared guitarist as soon as it was set up, someone usually sniffy about humbuckers in general. He did a double take as soon as he heard it, and said 'Don't ever change the pickups on that!'

I recently put a pair of Wilkinson nickel covered WVC Alnico V pups into my Harley Benton S-580 basswood SG. Really great sounding pups.

Hi Nick, I sent back my first SG dc600, there were a couple of faults, one of which was faulty humbucker and or wiring/pot making the pick ups sound lack lustr, the bridge pick up was so thin and tinny sounding. The replacement guitar is perfect and sounds great. It gets a bit thick and muddy with all three pups used together though.
