Hi everybody, I'd like to buy a HB-35 or CST-24HB. Liek a lot of people here I find those two guitars gorgeous but i have difficulties to choose which one to get. And no, i can't afford both . I'm still a very novice guitar player and my objective is to play mostly classic rock and blues. Right now i own a Cort G250 ( Stratocaster type ). I have nothing top complain about my guitar, but i just like some change ( early symptoms of GAS ) Just to make sure i didn't miss anything obvious, except for the look of them, what would you say are the biggest differences between them? As most of the time i practice with headphones or without amp at all, i'd like to know if there are video's or sound recording of those guitars when they are not plugged to an amp. Also, would semi-hollow body guitars be louder than a normal electric guitar when played unplugged? Thanks, Thitar

For classic rock and blues, the E35 is obvious.
The CST24-HB is a semi hollow too, but it sounds much more modern, and quite adapted to Jazz, Hard or even more saturated styles

Hi Thitar
I own an earlier copy of the HB35 and it is a great guitar for the price. It is a lot louder than a normal electric guitar when played unplugged due to the hollow body and the vioin type f-holes. I play it at night sometimes unplugged because it is quiet enough not to wake the neighbours but loud enough to hear and enjoy yourself!
It's great plugged in too - if you can ignore the sloppy playing here's me playing mine through a Boss BR80 - - I used the HB for the bass sounds as well as the boss micro has a good bass emulator. There is a link to some other tunes from my Soundcloud page in which I've used it on in the Stages and Studios section of this site.

I have both. I think you may dig the CST-24HB more... at least I do. Bigger, rounder tones. The pickups are heaps better. The HB35 is a lot of fun, just brighter and a bit punchy. I just like the buttery goodness of my CST24HB. As always, your mileage may vary!

Thanks for all your inputs. But still difficult to decide. Now i still have another solution. Gather some friends and go on a 5 hours car trip to go visit the Thomann shop and try them there... But wife will kill me if i do that Anyways, as none of them are on stock for now, i have until early next month to decide.

that´s exactly what I am planning this year! Not for the same guitars you are interested in, but some other Harley Bentons on my wishlist. Fingers crossed that we both will make it to Thomann soon, that could really help make the choice easier!

Cool - would love a trip to try everything out in person but my wife would kill me too!

I guess I'll get this one. Cherry red and PRS style! Best of both worlds?
