Not everyone wants to play a concert levels at home, and it is just me playing in the small back room for myself and no one else . But currently using a Micro Cube, but always feel that there is something better out there for use at low volume levels. I do not want to disturb neighbours and want to also keep the wife happy too! I do not need power, but I want quality of sound without having to have it loud….. I mean, I am sitting only a few feet away from the amp anyway.
Any recommendations would be most helpful….. (Oh, mostly bluesy stuff with a strat)

The best option is something like Digitech RP55 via Headphones, will give you awesome wall of hi-fi sound and will make you feel like you are playing in a huge arena in front of 60.000 people But if you want an amp, Yamaha has some very nice stereo amps great for practice. www.thomann.de/gb/yamaha_thr10.htmOr you could get a used solid state amp with a 12" speaker like Fender for good clean sounds on low volume and add a NUX Amp Simulator or Harley Benton True Sound series pedals infront and here you can even add extra pedals of your own choice. (this is what I am doing now with my Kustom PH2012R amp)

Ok. Appreciate those recommendations and advise and will investigate those now. Nice to have some suggestions as I have no other guitar buddies or friends,, so I am totally on my own on this. Only thing, while I do appreciate the merits of a headphone set up, I do not want to go that route. I was thinking something with a 10 or 12" speaker was most likely the area I should be looking. thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions there and that is indeed a worthy consideration. I did look into Peavy, so might revisit that. The idea of 1W and a 12" is the kind of direction that I would be thinking of. Thanks again

I've been thinking about Roland Cube 10, or Fender Mustang 1 or Mustang 2….But think that these may be way too much power and volume for just me playing in my small room. Also attracted to the Vox AC4TV, like the idea of 4w /1w / 0.25w settings….. and it is valve (tube) also!
Can anyone help with comments and preferences on the above, as that would be a great help to me to hear what other with much experience and knowledge would have to say.

If you want valve that is quiet and is valve look at the Bugera G5 Infinium combo www.musicstore.de/en_DE/EUR/Bugera-V5-Infinium-Combo/art-GIT0033280-000But honestly if you want Tube/Valve sound at a low bedroom level a clean solid state amp is all you need and then a nice tube amp simulation pedal with a overdrive infront, some reverb maybe already on the amp, delay and chorus pedals and you good to go. I love the tube sound I get on a ver low volume on my Kustom PH2012R amp with NUX Amp Sim and NUX Drive Core and my wife doesnt complain at all eventhough she can still hear me and trust me she just doesnt like hearing my fiddling around but now she doesnt mind it. She sais "it sounds kind of warm and is not irritating to listen to "

I soley used the Bugera V22 for a few years at low volumes and loved it, I was sitting 3 feet away from it Beautiful cleans & a good distortion channel . I only replaced it recently with a Laney Lionheart L5T, comparing both side by side I can tell you the Bugera held its own with the loinheart, just sounded different but as nice You would pick one up for €200 used !!

Will indeed check it out, though it is 22w and I kinda think thats too much for me and perhaps teh V5 Bugera would be a better option, but again, I hear what has been said in the above comments and playing with the V22 at low levels three feet away..... Again, thanks for the update.... I do appreciate you taking the time to post your post.....

It switches to 11 watts and believe me its not too much , I played it at very low volumes and it sounded great You will probably pay the same for the 5 watt.

5W 170€ I own both this one and THR10C Just not the same puprpose. THR is "all in one" modelisation amp, with effects embeded. But it is not a killer sounding amp. Just its value is somewhere else : - THR is the only amp I know souding ok - even playing heavy metal - at lvls not above that of a television.... and below ! - THR includes a lot of different conections that make recording, playing on a backing trac etc ... very easy On the other hand, the Fame JTA05 is just an incredibly good clone of Fender Champ at an incredible price www.musicstore.de/fr_FR/EUR/Fame-JTA-05-Sweet-Baby-Combo-/art-GIT0032351-000
