I had mine stock, not the infinium model . I changed the valves to jjs but made very little difference
I ran the bugera and the lionheart in stereo for a while so could compare them side by side I actually miss that amp !
You can pick them up for around €200 used here in Ireland

I kinda lost this thread, some great advice. I'm settled now on the Bugera V5, the power soaks a real bonus for me. I'm aching for the Cabronita on the 1st but I'm really trying to resist and buy sensible things like pedals & an amp but they're on request. Please tell me that doesn't mean they're gonna discontinue these anytime soon?

I don't think the Chinese are allowed soldering irons DefJef, it's like giving a 3 Year old scissors and saying "run". I reckon your reply is spot on mate, all down to the unbelievers not wanting to accept they could have saved a grand and got a similar sound. My mate, two American Fenders, who questioned my sanity over HB, and now has an Affinity Telecaster (due to the TE-52 being out of stock) and a 355 plus on order after recently buying the original said to me the other week that he was a Donkey spending what he has on MIA's. Total respect for him. Another convert who's now looking at a SC.

My only concern with HB is that its not made from sustainable woods! I asked Thomann about it.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

(this a joke but not one that leaves anyone doing this > . Perhaps this > or this > or this > ... or perhaps just this > ).

I could get a HB GA5 with the matching cabinet for 100€ used. But I am unsure as I have never bought a tube amp before.
What would you recommend compared to e.g. the Fame JTA-5 or the Bugera V5 (I am contemplating buying one of those ones new).

As far as I know DerAlex the Fame is a re-branded GA5 or as near as dammit. I've seen both in the flesh and to me the HB looks better, not heard a Fame though. I'm sticking with the Bugera for the power soak. This is the plan: 1, Buy a V5 when back in stock. 2, Buy a 12" 8 Ohm cab of preference to run the V5 through. 3, Sell V5. 4, Buy a Bugera G5 Infinium. And all before tea time.

(this a joke but not one that leaves anyone doing this > . Perhaps this > or this > or this > ... or perhaps just this > ). Ah ? I never saw any longer sustain on a guitar than that on my CST24-HB..... Sustain, tuning accuracy and stability, freezings, playability ....etc all these points are first a question of set up on such low cost guitars. Once this done, then you can really compare to more expensive ones. Because most of the price difference can be made on the time spent on a guitar to set it up before shipping. And according to the Bugera V22 : It was my very first tube amp, and I was very happy with it too. Wouldn't I had the chance to get an Ampeg GVT15H + cab for 300€ I'd still have it at home. It is just a bit too loud for home practice, imho. The more thant the half power mode, though already loud, doesn't sound as dynamic and clear as the full. `@ John The Fame JTA05 is really a killer bagain, at the same level as your favourite HB guitar and maybe even more. And if you need a 12" cab, just take the ...... Harley Benton G112 Vintage for 118€. This is the one I own with my Ampeg head, and I had several ocasions to compare it directly to branded stuff : much to complain sir .... for the others lol www.thomann.de/fr/harley_benton_g112vintage.htm

Well, things just happened and I got hold of a GA5 from a good friend in a swap deal. Really nice amp. Does anyone know the standard speaker? This one has a Jenson Special Design Ceramic made in October 2008, is this the stock unit?
