Hey.. I got this dilemma.. I'm moving in with my girlfriend and for a time, space will be limited so I thought about selling my roland cube 20x and buy a ID:Core 10, for this one has Full range speakers, USB and could be used to fill in for a practice amp and computer speakers at the same time. Is it doable? A bad idea? Is the ID:Core crap?`

What I've heard (and I have researched amps for ages before buying one) about the ID Core is very bad reviews, hiss noise mostly. I would much rather go with the CUBE but try and get the 30 Watt or is it 40 watt, I've read jazz players love those higher wattage Cube amps for very fine clean sounds. Never played any of those though.

Reviews around here are quiete good, of course related to the price. A big issue is the size... while the id_cores are slim and would fit on the table like Desktop speakers, a (bigger) cube can't be placed on the desk Maybe going for an amplug 2 is the best option for the time to keep my GF and the neighbours happy

If you need something great sounding for your headphone quiet practice please look into the cheap but real good HiFi sounding Digitech RP55 seriously look no further. I have the RP70 older version and its rockingly good, stereo sound and all, and you can tweak the thing to create your favorite patches. I also love to use it for recording. And the drum machine on it sounds awesome too for practicing real sweet

I'd have an offer for a Korg Ax1500g close by.... But in the end... If I'm taking a speakerless solution into the scope , I'm wondering if it wouldn't be more simple to just use the cable of Rocksmith, and use something like GuitarRig on the PC. So many options... but just not enough time and funds to try 'em all

Don't Blackstar make an even smaller thing; the BEAM or something? I've got the 10 (having sent back the 30 because of the hiss) and there is hiss on it. It's also not GREAT as a HiFi. Drums in particular sound as though Keith Moon is trapped inside and is hammering to get out of the box. I use other equipment for listening to music. It's really nice to play and record with though (but the USB interface and your monitoring might take a while to understand). If you want to please your lady you might get one of those Yamaha THR amps. They look lovely whilst the Blackstar looks very crap indeed.
