welcome to the club. post some pictures when you get you SC when mounting a bigsby type trem on an arch top, the said arch of the top could! be the problem. it all depends a bit on howe well the copy is made. take you time lining it out so it as good as you can get it. ideally the use of a vibramate would be easier, but more expensive. there is no need to drill any more holes then there already are with a vibramate. on the picture at least there are no felt pads underneath, where the metal will touch the body. if you don't have felt, put a round piece of thick cloth or something else under there for protection. otherwise with time the metal will eat trough the lacker. when doing such a modification there is always the possibility of not keeping in tune afterwards even if you don't use the trem! and when you use the trem, you maybe have to go as far as to add a roller bridge, locking tuners, other nut,....... to keep in tune! a bigsby type trem was not designed to do modern type trem effects ie heavy down bends, dive bombs, heavy up bends,....

People seem to get in a tizzy about Bigsbys but I'd just say go for it. There is plate that you can buy that fits into the old bridge holes so that you don't have to drill your guitar at all ( a Vibramate, I think it's called though that sounds a bit dodgy) and you can go back to the preinstalled version if you don't like it. I guess that also makes installation easier but lining the Bigsby up without that is pretty simple if you use two lengths of string from your E tuners and over the saddles to get nice straight string pull. Check out Dan Erlewine all over the interworld for any tips. Then just wham away remembering that if you're going to pull on it don't pull so hard that the spring pops out and the whole malarkey just collapses. damn, defjef beat me to it must learn to type quicker

Welcome to the club, bobamysdad.
MODERATOR'S NOTE: Although this is your first posting, I believe it should be in the "Guitar: Other Brand Accessories and Misc." section, so I'm moving it.

I had an bigsby licensed Tremelo on an Ibanez Artcore hollow body I owned about 10 years ago. I'm pretty sure the trem was made in China like the guitar and it worked just fine. I would recommend getting a roller bridge fitted so the strings don't bind and as long as the nut is cut well you should have no tuning problems.

Yeh if it works without roller saddles that's fine ....just didn't work for me on a Burns trem I had on a LP copy until I swapped for a roller.
