Got one last week and they appear to be inlays the same material as the binding on the neck. Think they ballsed up the nut on mine as the strings dont line up with the pole pieces and the g sits too close to the edge of the neck. Probably should take a pic and email them. Might just get a nut myself as I really like the body joins and would hate to return it and get a body I liked less (its a natural finish and the grain is very good)

Mine look painted but then again my neck has a serial number and could be different from other necks people got.

Mine are definitely inlays possibly ebanol or plastic and the same material as the binding. Didnt like it at first but am really warming to it, the bass that is not just the binding. Ridiculously cheap when you consider the strings alone would set you back 20 euro. No shielding at all on mine so it buzzes quite a lot but easy to fix.

phobos are you sure the neck binding is painted? You can test by cutting off a small piece of it with a sharp blade. I might do the same with the black inlays and see for sure if mine are painted or not.

papacheYou should be able to tell with the inlays by running your finger over it. Please don't resort to using a knife over this.Especially over this old thread, besides the fella asking the question disappeared On my 75 with the rosewood board it's 100% binding and inlays and to be honest I'd be surprised at any company painting on binding. The cost involved in masking the neck then painting it is far greater than running a line of glue, sticking some plastic then trimming with a knife.

I cant see it either TBH , hours of masking and very fine painting when binding is easily applied .
