I'm not going there. Never seen black fret wire and paint won't hold up against the strings.

One more: Warwick Rockbass 6. This one came by as B-stock at Thomann at a price I could not resist, it was cheaper than the Fortress 5 string I bought recently.

Only 30? Did you sell some? What is the neck profile like on the Warwick 6er? Is it a similar profile to the 4's or is it more of a flattened back (D shape)?

It's thick and roundish, feels like P bass in 6 string version, also very similar to my blue Corvette - Baseball bat territory. Both the black beasts and my Starbass have the more flattened neck profile.
I actually like both profiles, it gives a very different feel to the basses.

Thanks blablasI really fell in love with the profile on the Cort A6, which had a more flattened feel. However, I haven't had chance to try many 6ers, so I am curious (and Warwick seem to be having decent deals lately). But if the profile is similar to teh 4 strings, then I am not overly fond.

Ibanez are famous for having comfortable thin necks and if memory serves me right they are mostly coming from the same plant as the Corts. they also have all sort of basses in almost every price range, you might want to check them out if you are looking for a 6 string with a thin flat neck profile.
Warwick/Rockbass are notorious for a wide range of neck shapes, depending on production year and model.
I've got two Ibby's in the SR300 range, a five and a four string, both have thin flat neck profiles that feel smaller than a Jazz Bass.

To be honest, I have only played a few 6ers (none Ibanez). In the 4 and 5 string world I am not overly fond of the Ibanez necks, I find them too thin (refering to nut width). I like a bit wider nut, but sort of a thinner and flatter profile at the back of the neck. For example, the ESP Ltd necks I have played have a nice shape to them, but I wouldn't mind the neck being a little wider in neck witdh (will a little extra space between strings). On a 6er the string spacing is more or less the same on all of them (at least the "off the shelf" models I have looked at), but I would like something with a flatter profile.

New bass in the building, Revelation bass VI. Amazing how they can make an instrument with this build quality for this little money, faultless paint (polish) job, good finished pickguard and properly setup straight from the box. Of course I had to do some tweaks or it won't feel like it's mine, replaced the chrome pickguard screws with black ones, lowered the nut and did an even better setup. Also put some foam between the bridge and the strings, they were resonating irritatingly without this.

Yup, the influence of sunburst on the tone! More Serious... I don't know if the body is the same size, never touched one of those Jazzmaster's.
