I am afraid to plug this Peavey's speaker emulated out into my audio interface because this beast is powerful. It might burn it down Is it safe to do? And yes I indeed play into the Low Gain input and on the Warm voicing because this amp/speaker has lots of highs it seems. Its possible to play it clean bedroom volume with fx and even OD pedals. I dont get any fine breakup but that is to be expected form such a 80-100Watt speaker which needs higher volumes to do so (I assume) I do the same with my 160w Fender amp. Usually use the low gain input through a pedal with the amp volume set no greater than 1. Without a pedal then, just like BB, it's all about the guitar volume. Otherwise the plaster starts to crack in the ceiling. I'm pretty confident that I could play the Albert Hall with that amp.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

To rephrase "I'm pretty confident that one could play the Albert Hall with that amp."

A VERY IMPORTANT update!!! Was fiddling with it for a while but always played just above 1 on Volume (Clean channel, low gain input) and guitar volume at about 7-8 and never got the right EQ for some reason. Then I did the BB King trick and rolled off my guitar volume to 0 and upped the Clean Volume on amp to 10 !!! Then slowly introduced the guitar to about 1-2 and ... YES! the tone is much richer this way, more rounded. Still Bass is aplenty so rolling off the bass to Noon or even less depending on the pickups and upping the treble to 8 and even the Mids to 7. Best for me is the Classic Voicing and Speaker Dampening 'Tight', All on 25% power. The Reverb sounds OK imo but it can introduce noise the more you crank it. The Boost knob is noisy (I keep it off). I played this amp like this while my son was playing 2 steps away from me its not loud if I keep the guitar volume low. Also the amp does not introduce noise like this which I though it would. This can be a fine recording volume. Another update is; DefJef the Emulated Out does not switch off the main speaker when recording and needs to be cranked much more to get the recording level right. Its too quiet. So the only thing to do is unplug the speaker and then crank the amp. BUT! Can I do this without damaging something? Such powerful amp without speaker being plugged in !!!

Theres plenty of Treble in the High Knob and if not one can always set the 'Vintage' oicing which has it but lacks Bass so Low Knob can fix that.
I will do a short recording with a mic as soon I find time ...

I wouldn't run it without speakers connected. Solid State or not there is a lot of power that's having to go somewhere. Without a speaker load that usually means heat. Not to say there aren't clever electronics onboard to detect this situation and turn off the power amp accordingly but I wouldn't chance it.
The good news is that the Bandit is a popular amp so somewhere on the internet there are answers to every question you could possible have.

This amp was not bought for recording. I need a "power horse" in case I join a band (or start a band is more likely). I just need to get to know this beast inside out. But Im sure I can record it via Mic with low volume. Will test this tonight ...
By the way the emulated out has the same amount of hiss/noise as the actual speaker. I thought it would be quiet.

UPDATE;
Speaker Damping witch at the back has: Loose - Medium - Tight options. These are some kind of low frequency EQ options. Apparently for a Metal genre with more scooped sound "Tight" options seems better which also emulates the closed back cab. For more Classic Rock based sound "Loose" fits better and emulates an open back cab. Tight is less low frequencies and Loose is more low freq. Medium is something in between.
I wish this amp was more simple but then again its nice to have all these EQing/shaping options because all guitars/pickups have different EQs and outputs.

Hope you bond with your new amp papache..., I had a quick play on that exact model a couple of years ago and it sounded very good with plenty clean headroom for band playing. The guy only wanted £60 and as I didn't have cash for it at the time tried to trade a pretty decent Alden LP copy for it but he declined. Still kick myself for not finding the cash at the time cause that Bandit model still sells used in the UK for over £100. I'm also thinking of starting a band or jam session at some point again and I'm looking out for a used Bandit or some other decent SS amp that can keep pretty clean over a drummer. Also been hearing good things on the new Boss Katana 50 but I'm not sure it would have the clean headroom compared to the 100 version.

Had the house for my self today so tested the Bandit properly. ITS LOUD! It has cleans and it has drive and distortion. It has the options to play some great Hard Rock, Metal, Doom Metal and .. is there any other Metal type thats played these days. Any who, it can do it all but I dont play that. Sure it can get some fine clean tones but they seem kind of Gainy, pushed. Im sure it coul do some Pink Floyd songs where Gilmour plays clean but very pronounced solos. And all this is on the LOW Gain input. The High Gain is even ... more so gainy ... nah Gain is a wrong word here,... its very there, very pushed, very Hard Rock in your face attitude ... Any who I cant feel the Mojo with this amp ... I have the Mojo with my Bugera V5 even with my tiny HB CG-15 amp but not with this one. Sure it sounds good and it has useful voicings etc ... but not suited for y finger style playing. It loves the Pick Attack. When playing with the pick it sings but with fingers nah. Still think its a bargain for those loving Hard Rock and all genres above it. This amp has a huge ATTITUDE (which aint me). Will put it for sale and see to get something else instead ...

Im not sure what Im after ... If I played some known Fenders, Marshalls, Voxs then I could easily decide what I was after. Or if i at least tested many speakers so maybe there is the magic Im after ... Tone chasing is exhausting
