DefJef: I don't understand much of the story you wrote If there's any kind of those issues I'm returning it straight away, they did tell me it's in perfect playing condition unless stated otherwise (and it's not). Thanks Surge: I went on a bicycle ride with my mom, that actually wasn't too bad as you get the cool wind, then we went into a town and it was just too bloody hot I'm really not sure if I should get this, 40 euros off, something's bound to be wrong with it, surely?

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

Sounds about right As for the "unless otherwise stated" part I don't think they know and I've not seen them state reasons for B stock. They presumably didn't know the tremolo on my B stock MS60 VW wasn't in the right place or else decided to not state it.

No, I've never seen reasons for b stock other than ("May show slight traces of use"). Mmmm difficult. I think there's more than 1 B Stock available, the HB Custom Line King is available for B Stock also and that mentions "only a small number of pieces in stock". Not so for the CLD-28SCE and that's been up on the site for a week or so. Surely if there was just 1 or a few they would've been gone by now.

B Stocks are usually returns...in fact I assume all returns end up as B-Stock. Which means that there is a slightly higher chance that there will be a defect of some type.

Also sorry marit but I didn't vote as I don't know the difference between those two models. I haven't shopped in Thomann for acoustics and even if I did it would be lefty models only of which there is a more limited choice.

Thanks salteedog! Someone suggested to me that the price might be so low because it's a returned b-stock item, so it's been returned by 2 customers. That would explain the lower price. Still haven't made up my mind

I bet The CLD28 is better. I got CLA28 and it´s my highest quality HB, sounds better than CLD41.

Do you think the extra money for the CLD41 is for the decorative abalone frets and binding? I've love a CLA28 with no cutaway...and a CLA28V...and all of the acoustic range...

Interesting, easyrider! You don't think the cutaway will effect the sound much? dodger: that would make sense they charge more for the 41 for those reasons alone. Look at the Martin D-28 and D-45, on Thomanns website the 28 is 2789 and 45 is 4598. Other than that the HBs have the same materials (and a cutaway on the CLD-28SCE), quality should be equally good.

DefJef - if used plugged in through a PA will the sound differ much anyway? With some judicial EQing I can get rid of the quack that a piezo produces and get the guitar sounding more acoustic but sometimes you need a bit of fizz I think to cut through - especially as I am mostly picking, riffing or playing some basic lead to my mate's strums.

On a nearly related note I played a Martin DRS2 in a local shop today at lunchtime (cost around £900) and I prefer my HB 41SE in every way - given mine has had a year to open up - but the Martin is all-solid and of course has the all important name in gold on the headstock! Mine is more comfortable and has better pickup controls. Mine seems to react better to different types of attack and dynamics too. Was considering buying the "junior" version because it is all solid and very comfortable but the CLA28VE is calling me now more than ever. When I come back from the US it will be mine...
