So, I finally decided to join the club, and ordered a DC-Custom. Unfortunately it's now been stuck in DHL's facility in Cologne. Seems I'm far from the first person for this to happen to, but it's frustrating to say the least!

I'd happily pay a few more € for better shipping.

Not sure where you are located but the Cologne depot is the international air-freight transit for Fedex and UPS among others. It's one of the busiest air-freight depots in Germany. My experience is that shipments out of there are dependent on capacity being available on outward flights. Sometimes several days can pass before a slot opens up to accommodate your parcel. Thomann do not use highest-priority shipping for their stuff. If they did prices would be considerably higher.
I live in Ireland and have placed a good few orders with Thomann over the last few years. The delay in Koln/Cologne is always the most unpredictable bit. Once a package gets on the flight to Ireland it arrives at my house within a day. (People rarely acknowledge it but Ireland's postal service is second to none).

So it turns out that it's more down to a huge lag in their tracking. It arrived in the UK Friday night, and hopefully out for delivery today 🤞.

I didn't realise that. I assumed that a lot would go through Frankfurt, although I guess that's also got way more passenger traffic. I am very much interested in how this guitar feels, in general how the playability is? Once you get it that is

So, it arrived . A few scuffs and scrapes (which is fine as I got a B stock one), but a really questionable nut, and a nasty end of the binding the fretboard at the bridge end, which I'll get a second opinion on. Other than that, setup isn't horrible (buzz, but strings are a bit too low), and no sharp fret ends. Photos to follow!

For me, that nut is unacceptable. It looks like I fixed it whilst wearing boxing gloves.

The binding I don't mind (€50 saving B-stock), but if I need to get the nut replaced / fixed, that won't be cheap .
