I really like my new amp, great sound. Very responsive.
2 bizarre things. The volume pot on my PRS is now much more responsive. A dead lead works again.
Haven’t rebuilt my pedal board yet to use the FX loop, hopefully I’ll get a chance tomorrow. Also haven’t tried any of my dirt boxes yet, just clean and drive channels.

I had dead lead syndrome once. It seemed to come down to manufacturing differences. The tip shape and size was different. Only failed to work in one pedal.

I’m really glad I retested it, it was in a pile of jumble in my room. It’s a really long planet waves cable, I must have bought it back when I worked.

The Lionheart is a lovely looking amp - possibly the most lovely looking amp there is. Glad to hear it sound good too.

I think I've got severe retro-itis.

Supro are so damned expensive. You better believe it. Brand name folk-lore along with US labour costs help them keep that price up.

That drive channel is sublime!

That drive channel is sublime! Unlike the silly solid state one on my Fender Champ 25SE. Thought I'd give it a go again this evening and it's about as appealing as a bowl of burnt sprouts. I'll stick to the lovely 6L6s in the clean channel...if only they would break up just a little...

I don’t know anything about tubes and their characteristics. Or types of tube amp (Class A vs A/B etc) I don’t understand how the Laney Lionheart is cheaper than a Blues Junior, I much prefer my new Laney to my old Fender, the only thing that had over the Laney was volume and a real reverb tank.

My new Bugera V55 also has 6L6s and they dont break up at all on the clean channel hence me pushing them with me OD pedal. The drive channel on V55 is not nice sounding so far. Maybe I have to spend more time tweaking it ...

6L6s are super clean MartinB . They deliver the preamp's sound very authentically. 6V6s break up a good bit more and would probably be my tube of choice. EL38 and 84s are at grittier end. So you would expect your Lionheart to overdrive readily. I have regular access to a Peavey Classic 30 that seems to have its own tonality. Sort of darker Fender but not Voxy. It too has EL84s and I do like its response to attack from a bit of almost 6L6 clarity with gentle playing to good overdrive when pushed. As you say, Che, with these 6L6s a good responsive overdrive pedal is essential.

It has a lo and hi inputs, I run everything into the lo one, which should be for high output pups. But you can just run everything into it, you can setup the clean volume and drive amount and level independently of each other but they share the bright switch, eq and tone control.
It’s only 5W, but that’s more than enough for me, the clean channel headroom is higher than I’ve ran the amp. And you can get really nice (to my ear) drive sounds at low volumes.
I have probably too many dirtbox options now, the amp doesn’t do high gain really, but I’m not really into that anymore.
I can’t remember what my point was.
