My awesome sounding Mooer Twin Reecho Pro delay started giving out strong hiss when engaged! Its likely 3 years old by now. This started a while back but without much hiss ( @defjef did notice hiss/hum on my latest recording). Now it seems to be worsening.
At first I thought its something to do with my newly acquired BOSS CH-5 chorus but I tested the Mooer on its own direct into the amp and still the same amount of hiss remains (only when engaged). It has to go
I am looking to buy a new Delay pedal that has multiple options and TC Flashback II is the cheapest one and has fantastic reviews (apparently better than the older version and in class of more expensive stuff out there).
Im yet to get the money back from Gear4Music for the Line 6 M5 pedal I returned and was thinking to invest that into this new TC Flashback II.
If you have other ideas please tell but keep in mind it has to be in the same price range (2nd hand market is offering Boss DD-3 and DD-6 but these are just offering one type of delay).

If I remember rightly the hiss seems to increase as the volume of a sustained note or chord decreases suggesting that there is some kind of compression going on. Is there any knob that overrides this? Is there a gain stage at all? You could try a noise gate, although I'm no fan of those for recording, live you may get away with the Mooer as it is or with a noise gate.

Oh boy, there are a bazillion choices for delay. I think this is one pedal where you might actually prefer a modern digital delay.

No gain stage on this one. Oh , you speak of "that" noise that was noise from my old Digitech RP255 processor pedal nd came from the Compressiors Attack option. That pedal was sold long ago. I meant latest recordings. Noise Pedals are a HUGE No No from me. Martin I know there are tons of options out there which one do you think is a good Modern Digital Delay?

It’s awkward because I have been an analogue delay man for a long time, but you might not like the darker repeats.
I can only give you other people’s opinions. A lot of people swear by the Boss digital delays, I’ve tried a TC Flashback, it is a great delay.
I used to use an MXR Carbon Copy, it was brilliant, for unknown reasons I sold it. Now I use a TC Alter-ego x3 or 4 some number. I went overboard and should have got the basic one.

Boss DD-7. But without kidding, the TC is a good choice. I've got the TC Alter Ego which is more vintage voiced but as I understand it basically has the same delay engine as the Flashback, it's extremely versatile.

And as far as I know Boss has no tap tempo either! That no good! I really don't feel like buying a separate tap tempo box!

The X 4s and the Carbon Copy + have tap tempo, but generally it’s a premium feature.

Checked the Andy Martin video with the rubberneck, appears to be a great analoge delay pedal! \ He always makes fantastic demo's!

Yeah, I usually go by Andy’s demos. I love his style with the invisible pick.

I play with an invisible pick too martin. Always wonder if I may eventually wear through my fingernail! Still it's nice to have the fingers free for arpeggios too rather than having a plectrum cupped in your hand.
