Me too. I'm happy with the black scratchplate also (if it fitted) but something metal and similarly etched could be stunning. The headstock is handy for lifting overhead cables or pinning a rattlesnake to the floor.

The same seller also has a blue Jazzmaster with a red pickguard and P90s: I wonder if that red thing can be easily replaced… Probably not, it would have to be painted.

Black or White pickguard is best.. That colour blue really does not suit the guitar.

It's a challenge There is no real reason why a colour wouldn't fit a shape. If we can have a blue Les Paul or a blue Strat', we can have a blue Jazzmaster. I'm sure they all looked weird the first time. That said, I've been playing some more. Is there a place selling custom printed pickguards? I almost think I would like a metal pickguard on this. After all, I was half tempted by this:

Yes I agree. Metallic is best - possibly a nice aluminium one?

When SY had Fender signatures Lee Ranaldo's was blue.
There are a couple of places that do custom pick guards, I remember looking into it ages back, it was too expensive for my tastes.

I suppose the alternative to a custom pickguard is a custom printed adhesive thing to cut and put on it. That should be easy to get.

Oh, that's a nice offering they have. It even looks like it could fit but I see the one on the guitar is not a regular one since it doesn't go around the bridge. This guitar is of undisclosed origin. It could be made out of separately bought parts or just some cheap copy stripped down and re-finished. I guess it's quite a risk.
Agreed on the matching of silver shades. Maybe some perloid would be nice with blue. I'm not getting the Strat'…
