funny story lads.....yesterday when tuning my amarok..for a breif moment i thought my tuners were broke....turning the peg...string wasnt budging anywhere.... after slapping myself i realised i was turning the wrong peg...even though they are reverse...in my brain i was still treating the high e as the low e......ect doh...what a plonker eh ha ha Yes, that can easily happen when switching headstock shapes. The worst is the 12-string. I always have to pay extra attention, also with the 7 string headstocks. At least I'm lucky both are 3+4.

also if anyone is interested the sound of the amarok is amazing...its not just a metal guitar... There is no such thing as a "metal guitar", a "jazz guitar", a "hip hop" or "kazoo quartet" guitar. Some guitars don't have enough frets or access to high notes for high pitch soloing, which limits their role. Some won't be adapted to playing in front of a loud amplifier because of feedback generation and some will have pick-ups so dull they will be limited in their sound characteristics, but most modern instruments can be used for anything. A "metal guitar" is one that fits the dress code of a "metal band", whatever that is, was or will be (expect a lot of variation). Watch videos of "metal bands" going back a couple of decades and you'll see them changing guitars like T-shirts. They are not special, they don't have super-metal pick-ups or particular charcteristics that make them fit the role besides looking the way they do. The whole "this-style guitar" thing is a marketing trap, selling illusions to the gullible and the herd-minded.

Funnily enough, I changed my mind and went back to order an Amarok 6 as well. There were only green ones left but that was actually my first choice anyway. Judging by the expression on my wife's face when I told her, it's probably a good thing that they had all gone! They should be back in stock in July so I will live another few months at least... Unless some B-stock returns turn up of course!

When faced with such a dilemma, I always end up buying both anyway. Resistance is futile I'm actually almost surprised I haven't bought a Fusion yet.

@leo thunder i agree mate.....im not in the slightest a metal player....i just loved the look of her. but before buying the amarok you could see the perception online was that it was just a drop d chugger.. far from it... im of the crossroads mentality.....i learned the old blues masters..then the 60s influence of blues rock. ...and when i hear what came after i was like...*** is this ****?....ha ha. im 40..so back in the 90s when i was a teen and in bands most of the lads were either hardocre ravers..or metalica and pantera dudes..or nirvana grunge types .. i was still getting goosebumps from led zep and hendrix,..black sabbath is the heaviest band i ever liked. i bought this axe to play blues rock...hell even jazz

I hear EMG pick-ups are known for clarity. I don't know how true this is or will be of these but that should open wide doors. As to jazz, whenever I see some ignorant roll the tone off and pluck some meandering chords with fingers I want to throw Miles Davis' incisive trumpet sound in their face or point to Robben Ford's work with him. Here he is, at 23:15. This is jazz guitar:

I'd going to bite the bullet on an Amarok but just about every video on YT shows a number of production faults. Add on lack of a trem option and I think I'll wait for the 2nd production run. In the meantime I've ordered a Fusion II Well unfortunately, they haven't been able to raise the level of their QC. It makes me wonder if that first run is already completely sold or if they finally decided to retunr the worst ones to their factory ! I guess you're right, waiting for the 2nd run is a good alternative Finally, with just a minor paint flaw and an easy solved jack input issue, I can consider myself lucky ! Now, this axe plays really like a dream and sounds amazing. I'm preparing my complete review of this beast

There's a green 6 string B-Stock Amarok available for £399 / €459. Does anyone know any history on this or is anyone willing to take a chance on it? B stocks are always a hit or miss thing. Maybe it's just someone who didn't like it but the guitar is in mint condition. Maybe the guitar has minor finish flaws but works perfectly well... I think it's worth trying anyway

There's a green 6 string B-Stock Amarok available for £399 / €459. Does anyone know any history on this or is anyone willing to take a chance on it? B stocks are always a hit or miss thing. And so is "A-stock". A B-stock is almost always a former A-stock, not something that some fantasised checking instance qualified as such after inspection. I suppose demo items always turn into B-stock too, or anything that had to be unpacked and used for some purpose. When they send something to Henning for a Youtube review and get it back, it becomes a B-stock because he licked it.
