When they send something to Henning for a Youtube review and get it back, it becomes a B-stock because he licked it. Shouldn't that increase the price rather than decrease it

Depends on how much you value a virus Donut...

It looks like 2 of the 4 new explorers, the EX-76 with silver LAF pups and the EX-84 modern in antique white with active pups are sold out already. I was thinking about ordering the EX-76 above as I love the Gibson original it's a copy of but I guess I'm screwed again... I wonder if they actually produce more than 10 of each guitar?

The last 2 HB's I bought I had to wait until they were back in stock. The SC 550 I ordered within a couple of hours of it being in stock was sold out in 3-4 days.
I don't know how many they get of each model at s time. I would assume it would be at least 50-100 units of each model? To get them at a viable cost/profit margin?
I think in the last couple of years a lot more people have discovered and took the gamble on HB? I don't know Thomann's big sales catchment areas but the U.S seems to be importing a fair few, expanding sales figures worldwide.
It would be interesting to know stock/sales figures for HB? It must be growing as there seems to be more models out of stock than previously. Obviously the virus may be a big factor but even before that a lot of models were out of stock regularly.

Wow, that was quick. I didn't even realise that the EX-76 was in stock as the last time I looked it was a couple of weeks away. I guess that in a volatile market Thomann are never going to over-order anything which doesn't have an established sales history.

Has anyone weighed their Amarok? Henning reviewed one which weighs 4 Kg and says they can vary a lot. I'm curious about the bigger baritone and 7-string models.
He really liked it, by the way. But I much prefer the look of Solar guitars. If pointy, then I'd rather go the whole way.

The Amarok Baritone comes with 13-62 strings, not 14-64 as originally announced. The product description on the Thomann site was updated.
This guy lists a few flaws in the two guitars he bought. One of them had major intonation issues (scale too short) and had to be returned.
Comments under this other video also mention intonation problems:

Can anyone tell me what the spacing of the bridge on the standard scale Amarok 6 is? Is it the Gibson(49mm) spacing or F-spacing (53mm), or something else perhaps?

also if anyone is interested the sound of the amarok is amazing...its not just a metal guitar... There is no such thing as a "metal guitar", a "jazz guitar", a "hip hop" or "kazoo quartet" guitar. Some guitars don't have enough frets or access to high notes for high pitch soloing, which limits their role. Some won't be adapted to playing in front of a loud amplifier because of feedback generation and some will have pick-ups so dull they will be limited in their sound characteristics, but most modern instruments can be used for anything. A "metal guitar" is one that fits the dress code of a "metal band", whatever that is, was or will be (expect a lot of variation). Watch videos of "metal bands" going back a couple of decades and you'll see them changing guitars like T-shirts. They are not special, they don't have super-metal pick-ups or particular charcteristics that make them fit the role besides looking the way they do. The whole "this-style guitar" thing is a marketing trap, selling illusions to the gullible and the herd-minded. Well said. Always remember that bands like Iron Maiden are using STRATS. You can do anything with anything if you're brave enough

I would just like to thank whoever purchased and returned a Amarok-6 BKBL recently. The discount I got on the B-stock more or less covered the shipping. If I or anyone would have purchased this guitar as A-stock/New you'd never know it from examining this guitar. The plastic on the rear plate had a few scuffs on it but it's all scrunched up in the bin now. The specs and build quality are unreal for under $500. Snagging this one at $398 was a steal. I've done some pretty extensive mods on a few HB's recently where you wouldn't even know it was a HB unless I told you. I'd be hard pressed trying to find something I'd want to change on this. I've got a Schecter C-1 with a Floyd and a few other guitars with wiggle sticks where that feature is not missed on this one. I like the hardtail and the wiggle wrist will do.
