I really love the new Harley Benton SC Custom II Paradise Flame - looks and sound of the Roswell zebra humbucker. Pictures will follow as soon as I find out how to upload (maybe from my pc).

It sure has a slinky/slippery back and neck.

Hi rockbandguy, Did you manage to upload your pictures because I don't see any? I bought this guitar as well and I'm a bit disappointed by the color. I expected a beautiful red/brown top as seen on Thomann website and mine is light brown. I did not play a lot because this is my Xmas gift but I really enjoyed everything. Among the 5 HBs in my collection (TE-20, TE-30, ST-20, DC Junior FAT and SC Custom II) this one is definitely the best one in term of sound and playing. It seems Thomann is not fair with pictures of guitar flamed veneer. Here is mine: And here is what I expected as per Thomann pictures: (I increased the contrast of the picture to have this nice red/brown color )

Your first picture looks exactly like my paradise flame top, I think the picture is just too dark for some reason on the web site. Mine looked like the pic, SC-550.

Interesting comparison. Glad you're happy with one. I wonder why those strap locks have to be so big? They look like they belong on the top of a pressure cooker!

Marvel design.
Aesthetically, I don't find them unattractive as you do. I quite like them. They don't look as oversize deployed in use. On the guitar sitting in the hanger or on the stand with the female head half fitted to its strap, all you see is a typical male button hardly bigger than those Schaller use. The female part on the strap doesn't look unduly odd either to my eyes, and when attached to the guitar with the strap worn in use, the entire ensemble doesn't appear noticeably disproportionate or oversize.
Functionally, the important bit here given the weight of the average Les Paul, I actually prefer the Marvel lock on that guitar to the Schaller design I choose to use on everything else. My Harley Benton Custom SC is the heaviest electric guitar in my inventory of 8 solid body electrics by a considerable margin, even though it with its slimmer body weighs less than the average traditional Les Paul.

Thanks for the info @manxcat. This image certainly shows how the male part only looks very like a standard strap pin. I hope this problem is a one off!

I am torn between this one and the Ocean blue. What can you tell us about the HAF pickups? are they a bit muddy? Anyone knows the sound difference between LAF and HAF?
Thanks!

The LAF are vintage voiced supposedly PAF sounding, HAFs are higher output more modern sounding I believe.

Hi rockbandguy, ... It seems Thomann is not fair with pictures of guitar flamed veneer. ... And here is what I expected as per Thomann pictures: (I increased the contrast of the picture to have this nice red/brown color ) I wish it would look like the one from Your "photoshopped" picture. Sadly it dosn't look like this. I wonder whether we could apply something to the finish to get it that dark. In the meantime I exchanged my SC-Custom II and got a replacement that is a little closer to what I like:

A lot of the pictures from Thomann's site are inaccurrate. One time it was a positive surprise. Look at these two pictures of the SC-550 Black Cherry Flame. One from Thomann's site and then the real guitar, which was a pleasant surprise: Especially the fretboard color...
