Yes you can, but it is more difficult to apply, the coper tape has is a self-adhesive, another disadvantage for aluminium foil is that you can't solder to it. Ok,thanks again

Finished wiring and everything works properly. All that needs to be done now is doing a proper setup and after that have fun with it. More detailed pictures when lighting conditions are better.

I don't think I mentioned which one I would use, it's a Artec 2 band, cheap but getting quiet a few positive reviews, I was curious how it would sound (I still haven't had time yet to plug the bass in my amp, maybe later on tonight).

Nice.
I have an Artec pre for the HB mod (that is still ongoing, waiting for the body to be returned).
Mine is the 3 band EQ version. I only tried it briefly, but I found it very neutral (in a good way).

Had couple hours of fun with it now, I must admit I'm not disappointed with this preamp, it goes from thundering lows to almost no lows at all, highs can be very bright and clean to very muffled and still have lots detail, no irritating hiss or hum when fully applied. I can't tell if this preamp is neutral due to not having heard this pickup without one, but it sound okay over its complete range. This preamp is lot better than the EMG-BTC-control preamp I have used before, also better than my Seymour Duncan 3 band preamp, it is very similar to my SGD 2 band preamp. The Glockenklang 2 and 3 band preamps and Bartolini 2 band preamps I use are better but these are also a lot more expensive.

Interesting what you said about the Artec pre vs EMG vs SGD.I take a note of that preamp, thanks.

The pick guard has a sort of solid look to it, which looks very attractive.

The reason why i was asking you Blablas for the MM pickup in the very front neck position is my Attityde project.Unfortunatly the bass came with a Ibanez (SRX) humbucker, not a MM one as i thought. Is ok sounding pickup, differed from MM but for a passive one is sounds a lot deep and has a good voice and volume. The guy who was the previus onwer of the bass change the central P pickup, take off completly the back J and he put a humbucker in the midle. My idea is to place a P pickup in the midle position and the Ibanez humbucker in the neck,to simulate the signature Attitude bass(Billy Sheehan). Ofc i must find a way to cover the empty J place and i don't know how. Also the tounge of the neck is under the pickguard, excatly in the same place that the humbucker must placed. Your thoughts mate?Is it worth the effort? Mine Attitude Billy sheehan Attitude

Do you have a picture of the back? I need to see how the neck is mounted and where the mounting screws are placed, but beforehand I'm inclined to think it will be difficult to properly mount a pickup in that area. Do you know how the BSA looks underneath the pickguard?

Yes i have. The screws are in the end of the neck.My neck is the same with Attitude II,only wood but the attitude have a channel under the pup.The Attitude I model have a piece of aluminium as neck tounge. Here a link of Talkbass about the Attitude necks. The Attitude I,have the 3 and 4 screw upside down, you can unscrew them only if you take off the pickguard. www.talkbass.com/threads/yamaha-attitude-ii-neck-joint-info.376573/My Standard Attitude Attitude I & II necks Back of the ATD I.The 3 and 4 screw is the the other side of body. Pick from above of Attitude I,without the woofer pickup. You can see the depper channel under the woofer pup In the Attitude III,they change the pickup, and the screws go in angle. Now they have 5 of them. Thanks in advance.

After having seen all the pictures you supplied I think it is doable, but you need some serious engineering and fabricating skills. This is the best way to go.
