Yes Im cursing the China Post for not being efficient and the Danish Post for being overly efficient I dont even know what the total damage will be until they deliver the goods and leave me a fine piece of paper with all the numbers I have to pay them. This NUX MG-200 better be good otherwise I will burn it, Im not kidding you

It arrived today after so much wait and paying extra money for it I kind of developed negative feelings for this box of effects so will not say much until I play all the options etc ... What I can say now is; its not all metal enclosure! The large cover is plastic, solid but still plastic! The power supply is great. It has that extra "thingy" on the wire which reduces noise, you can see it behind the pedal. Cheap power supplies dont have that. image hosting 30 mb

So far I can tell that this pedal sounds much more analogue than my Digitech RP70 which has that fine sounding Hi-Fi sound but lacks meat'n'bones. This MG-200 does not make your playing sound great so you have to play it well to sound well. It certainly behaves/sounds like an analogue pedal. I do have a problem; the EQ is not 3 band (treble, mid, low) but a 6 band in Hz and I have no experience what so ever with such EQ-ing I just cant figure it out to lower the bass and treble up etc ... The pedal controls are very intuitive. The 3 knobs can be used on the fly to control level, gain and Master. Even if you have to go to change the parameters on a certain FX its all around those 3 knobs very much. I would say a much easier multi fx modeler than Digitech RP70 and is even better because in MG-200 you can switch off all amps and cabs and only , say, use the Reverb if you want. Versatile it is. Yet to connect it to the Amp and see how it behaves with other analogue pedals in chain.

Thanks! I was wrong to assume this box only had this 6 band EQ The amps only have a Gain. Presence and Volume so I assumed there is no other EQ but all the cabintes have bass, middle and treble so no need to use the 6 band Yes Tone is on the screen. The looper works great and sounds good. Drums sond better on Digitech RP70 but these are ok for practicing and laying down ideas. The Fender Bassman amp + cab sound great with a Bass Guitar which can be recorded and Looped for practice with drums, sweet! So far Im ok with this box. Still to try and record with it and play it in chain with other pedals into me Kustom Amp

I cant praise this enough; I have not opened the manual at all since it arrived and I am finding every feature easily. Thats a HUGE PLUS.

Ok, I have played it without any other pedals into my Kustom solid state amp and one thong is certain; This box sounds awesome into an amp! All amp models sound great and the cabinets also. The 3rd foot switch can be used as Control 1 to kick in an overdrive/distortion or else which is very handy in live situations I believe. There is also an option for extra Ctr2 with a volume pedal.
My Digitech RP70 doesn't have any BPM indicators while this one has that and it also shows on the drums if its 4/4 or 2/4 etc ... Someone put lots of effort to make this pedal for a musician (or maybe they just copied the newer Zoom or Boss modelers).
So far I can already recommend this pedal but lets see how it sounds directly into an interface and DAW and also in the chain with other pedals.

The amp simulations of Fender Bassman and its cab 4x10" sounds AWESOME both for guitar (single coil and humbuckers) and bass. The Soldano Amp sim is also a killer for high gain solos or crazy fat riffing with lots of sustain and these sims have such lovely tone. The Roland Jaz 120 amp is also lovely clean sounding. I havent played all the amp and cab analogue simulations but they do react nicely to the tone and volume knobs on the guitar.
I just recorded some stuff for the first time with this pedal and Im very happy with it! The intro part was not played on the MG-200, it was played on the Digitech RP70 so ignore that "Cello" sound but the rest was played on the Fender Bassman amp and Bassman 4x10" cab. Very fine balance between the bass and treble and it was played on my L-450Plus middle position with bridge pup on tone 7 and volume 9 and the neck pup tone 1 and volume 1.

I see now why InTheBlues review praises the NUX Amp Core pedal which only has the amp and cabs analogue sims which are part of this one. Its the same TSAC technology (true simulation of analogue circuit).

The Looper on this box gets jammed every now and then sounds like a jumping CD. Have to switch off the power to reset this issue. Damn it!
There is some strange "after-tone" in the Roland Jazz amp sim. Like a slight distorted tone after playing a clean note.
Something ain't right with these components. Hm ...

In case I have not mention it; the Fender Tweed Amp + cab sounds AWESOME. Also as soon I change the BPM on the drum machine the BPM is immediately changed on the delay to suit it. This was not the case on my Digitech RP70.
Im not too crazy about the overdrive/distortion sounds on this box but the clean Fender is just sweet as honey and the effects like tremolo/chorus/wah-wah are just lovely.
Very nice recording pedal indeed, not sure its best for playing into an amp. But then again for the amp I have other pedals and this one was in the first place bought for quick direct recording and Im utterly happy with it.
I will very soon record a new idea for a tune using the Fender Tweed Amp+cab so you can hear how it sounds.

Hi papache!
I want to buy a multifx for practising at home. The two main options are Zoom G3 and the Nux MG-200.
Are you still satisfied with the unit? It's dificult to find information and the videos about it have poor sound quality. In the videos the hi-gain amps seems to be very nosiy and some people complained about de noise gate.
Is there a patch editor? I can't find it! The support is a mess, are you agree?
Wow! A lot of questions... I'm sorry.
Zoom G3 can work like audio interface too... a lot of factors in favour of it... Lot of happy users, videos... etc but I'm still atracted by the Nux MG-200. I never liked Zoom products 😝.
