Just got the new Marvel strap locks and the guitar fell 2 times in 10 minutes of playing. They just dont grip that well. Its lucky I caught the guitar each time. I now took them off and placed the old school strap pins from my start onto this guitar.
Security Strap Locks my a r s ! I will never ever use those on my guitars!

I only play guitar at home and I love playing standing so a strap is a must have for me. Meaning; I wont be jumping around the stage to need any strap locks really and after this quiet unpleasant experience with a "Safety" strap lock almost dropping my guitar to the floor and maybe breaking its neck or god forbid damage that gorgeous AAAA flame top I am staying with the old school pins. I have already taken the strap pins off my strat and placed it on me Paradise Flame Babe I can now play it standing without a fear of dropping it to the ground. But I will look into those Strap Blocks. That looks like a nice mod.

Just measured the action on 12th fret on the L450plus and the low E is 1,5mm and the high e is 1 mm, very low action and no buzzing. That really is low. If your guitar is playing clean with no buzzing or choking on bends high up the neck, then you've done a great job.

yeah, seems like a good setup by che indeed.good work! that new neck heel makes it even more confortable. did you compare the L450plus and the sc550,che? i mean the necks etc. the only thing i noticed in the 10 minutes i had her in my hand was the tune-o-matic bridge (i mentioned it already somewhere). its a cheaper one which is strange for the "higher" grade LP.

Well, the pickups are by far better on the SC550 I must say. The balance between the treble and bass strings is perfect and when strumming hard the whole bare chords the high strings dont sound harsh at all. I mean what a great sounding pickups just WOW! I dont see any issues with the bridge so far but my experience with electric guitars is limited so dont take my words for granted. The bridge pup on the SC550 is far more sharper in the treble end than the neck pickup or it might be the tone pots as well, so I turn the bridge pot down to 5 and keep the neck pot at 10 and this gives me perfect balance between those two when switching between them. Love the cleans and love the dirt on this guitar. I would love to get a bit lower action than the Gibson specs but that seems to bring back the buzz so just must live with it. And as said before these pots and 3 way switch must be of better quality for sure. The 3 way switch is so easy to work without that hard clicking sound and the pots are so smooth and very sensitive. So far all seems perfect to the point of me planning to buy these same pickups and better pots and 3 way switch for my L450+

There is a video here on the forum about the Kustom amp I bought and there I played with my L450Plus with this low action so you can hear it both clean and dirty. The strings do buzz if you hit them hard but no fretting out all frets are perfect By the way the buzzing I can hear when guitar is not plugged in, you cant hear it through the amp

Update; The SC 550 body is partially hollow. I can easily spot this by knocking on the SC 550 body. The L-450 seems solid wood all over. This is why the SC 550 seems lighter than the L450+

The sustain on my SC 550 is not as good/long as on my L450+ .This might have something to do with the frets needing some more filing I hope. I would love to have the same low action as on my L450+ or at least a bit lower than it is now. Will try some adjustments soon and see how that goes

acion wise my sc 550 is on the same level than the L450. sustain wise i got the feeling its because of the different and cheaper bridge on the 550.

As some of you already know I tried to buy 3 HB acoustic guitars and each one was poorly assembled so I returned each and every one back to Thomann. Che, you can´t buy a good acoustic for a 150 EUR! Even not a HB. 250 is a deadline in Thomanns assortment by my opinion. I own 3 of them and made an order yesterday to another, a CLD 41. May give you a round-up if necessary. To buy a bad guitar is absolutely pointless even if you eaten up with curiosity. By the way, would you be so kind and give me the names and the model numbers of these acoustics you had sent back.
