Okay...in spite of myself I ordered a Deko CST-24T LH Paradise flame earlier today. It was eur95 plus eur15 shipping (there was nothing else on my wish list that I wanted to make up the extra 100 to avail of free shipping ).
Not a guitar I need or even really wanted but I reckon I'd try it to see what all the fuss is about re. the CSTs.
One advantage of being a lefty is that the Dekos stay up that bit longer!

You can return it but they wont pay return shipping and they wont refund shipping. Here is a short version of the emails i exchanged with thomann: me:I'd like to know if the products sold as decoration instruments are eligible for return. These ones: m.thomann.de/gb/decorative_guitars_and_basses.htmlThem:Decoration items are not covered by any type of warranty. Looking at our website, you will see the corresponding icons below the article description. Should these icons be missing below the item description of the item you are looking to buy, this means that you are interested in an item with warranty constrictions. Here some examples: software products, products sold by meter, items produced by custom specifications, or products that cannot be returned due to hygienic reasons as well as decoration instruments. me:Can those decoration items be returned within the 14 days, as specified by the European law of buying things online? That's what I need to know. them:Thank you for your email. As explained by my colleague, deko items are not covered by any form of money back gaurantee or warranty. Therefore they cannot be returned under any circumstances. I'm still not 100% sure, as there is in fact an European law that states that ANY product bought online can be returned within 14 days. But that's what they told me. On a side note, have you guys ever been able to snatch a deko for less than 100? they seem to be instantly bought by bots or something... There was an awesome ocean flame CST24T for like 88€ the other day... ;_;

As far as I am aware the Consumer Contracts Regulations only state these items as goods you can't return if you simply change your mind: CDs, DVDs or software if you've broken the seal on the wrapping perishable and other items that deteriorate rapidly, such as food and flowers tailor-made or personalised goods underwear and earrings. Nothing else. Plus delivery charges are a consideration: The seller's terms and conditions or returns policy should state who pays the cost of returning an item. If they don't state this, then the seller has to cover the cost. In this case, you're entitled to a refund of the total amount you paid, including costs to ship the item to you, and the fee to return the item. No admin or restocking fees should be charged. Check this out: Consumer Contracts Regulations
A lot of these stink if you're seller, just as many previous EU ones do. The new Data act is a right dog's breakfast for instance.

Good luck with that one. It doesn't seem like your kind of guitar at all but looks ain't everything when you're recording. Not my type of guitar at all. I always associate the PRS style with the most gentile of dad-rock muso types. Plus I like to avoid trems. Maybe I'll relic it! Or worst case scenario I'll dismantle it and use the parts elsewhere.

crikey...that might be the wrong word. I definitely didn't mean to do a Jeremy Corbyn here. Edit: The usual meaning of the word in my head is : "of noble rank or birth, belonging to the gentry" But perhaps that's not the meaning that many take from it.....

perhaps ...see my edit. I might be using the word incorrectly for years. Wouldn't be the first time. I used to always misinterpret 'mediocre' as meaning '**** poor' rather than 'middling'.

'Gentrified'? Now that I had a good nights sleep I realize I should have spelt the word as 'genteel'. Total brain fart.

Yesterday was total brainfart day. As I said, I ordered a decoration only instrument for just over €100. After vowing that I wasn't going to buy any more guitars until I got rid of some. And furthermore it's a blingy PRS type with a tremolo bar and more frets than I need (which has the negative of making the neck and bridge pups too close together). My missus is questioning my sanity.
