Thanks to the Dansih bankholiday my guitar is somewhere stuck! I hope its not roasting in a hot truck! This heat is an acoustic guitar killer! Im mostly concerned with the fretboard, which is Ovangkol and Im sure will look very dry! This can cause frets to pop out! I will oil the fretboard as soon I decide its a keeper (hopefully already in a day or two). Will have to build a DIY humidifier box to place it inside the body as this heat will continue (canät believe me saying this, but we do need some darn rain here, everything will dry out)

Can't wait to hear your opinion @chedapapa. I hope you're captivated from the first strum!

C'mon @chedapapa - don't leave us hanging like your guitars! You must have had at least one strum...
It's a beauty...

I will leave it for a while to aclimatise before I strum it, but promisse to give you my honest review soon! Just joking ! Of course I was strumming it as soon I tuned the guitar and figured out that regular E tuning is not for me on an acoustic guitar. It feel too rigid. Tuned to falt E and the thing started to sing and feel much better under my fingers! The neck needed quiet a few turns on the truss rod to make it flatter and bridg the action a bit down this way. Fells like I could shave the bridge saddle a bit more to lower the action some more but it is acceptable with flat tuning (less string tension). Im playing with the stock D'addarios as they look very new and shiny! I have bought the Elixir Nano-web 12-53 which I will change in a few days Im sure just because I can't stand that sound on roundwounds when sliding fingers up and downb the strings! Elixir should not suffer of this syndrome! This guitar has a very good sustain. The volume between the strings is even. The tone of the strings played above the 12th fret sounds very good and clear (which was not the case with CLD-15M and CLA-16S, which would give more of a dead THUMP sound on the lower strings) This guitar seems to have a natural compression to it, very pleasing must say! It can growl! ... and it is VERY responsive when played in different position; if I strum closer to the neck it sounds very warm but still clear and if I move just slightly to the middle of the sound hole it sounds stronger with more volume and in case I need some trebbly sound strumming closer to the bridge gives a nice cutting tone! Lots of tonal possibilities in this one! The nut is NOT cut that well! It could be cut lower which is good as if it was cut too low that would be a sucker Still, when I play an open E, A, C and G the intonation is spot on so I will live with this slight issue. Intonatiion is not 100% spot on above the 14th fret but thats just me going all hyper sensitive here and Im suremany would not even notice it! I can certainly live with it as I will not play so high up anyway (no cut away on this guitar). The Abalone looks very kitchy to my eye I would feel much better without it but if the guitar sounds great than I will get used to it I guess! Tuners are SUPERB! Finish on the guitar is superb! Neck feels great and is a 1 peice neck with a volute! The heel is also one piece! The Spruce top looks like a 1 piece in broad daylight but in a darker room one can clearlay see the two pieces (well matched to give a 1 piece impression). No fret buzz! The fret ends are not rounded but no sharp ends. The Ovangkol fretboard looks very good and so does the bridge. They feel like a much harder wood than the damn Blackwood I had on my HB Traveler (stay away from that wood folks, it feels like butter). Will oil it when I change the strings! dodger where should I plaace the front strap pin as this one has none?! So far Im very pleased! Sound extremelly good in our large living room with high celings and not so good in a smaller room especially if facing a wall (gets a bit boomey)! Still need to test it outdoors!

@chedapapa glad you like it. Mine is really loud now. I haven't got round to putting a strap button on and play like the old cowboys standing up with the strap going round beside the nut. I mostly gig sitting down so not a big issue.
Enjoy your CLD41 - it's a keeper!

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I screw a button into the flat bottom of the heel like on an SG. I have read that it could cause imbalance and I agree that on an SG it does but I've never found it to be the case on an acoustic. I have 5 done that way. I've also read that it could split the wood; it could cause roll away; it could hurt the joint; it will reduce the value of the instrument etc. And yet (apart from the value part which I ignore. My instruments are for me not future owners) I have experienced none of these awful events. However, in the interests of human improvement, I have noticed that I have an old bashed up Harmony acoustic in my office. The button is currently in the bottom of the heel, like all my others. I will try drilling it and putting the button on the side of the heel, Martin any Taylor style, so it's facing the floor when I'm playing and I will get back to you to see which seems preferable. Perhaps you could do this:

Placing a strap button to the heel of an acoustic is akin to piercing jewellery to a sensitive part of your anatomy. Sure it may be safe for some but there's always a risk of infection if your not careful.
