Very pretty guitar! Is the playability something you'll be able to fix?

Playability is fixable, if you not sending it back. Pickguard looks better but sorry they had changed the headstock logo and probably the trussrod cover. Cowards! By the way, the bridge is the same in my opinion. At Thomann site are old pics. Let us know, how do you fix it up.

That's a lovely looking guitar Marit - another Neil Young-alike? I'd love HB to make a Gibson J200 without the cutaway but with the Fishman pickup

Oh a bit of a bummer was that they left the tuning switch on so the battery is empty. Boooo. easyrider: it's a shame they took off all the pictures from the site, it seemed a bit rounder there whereas on this one it's sharper. I like it better so no biggy. Would there be any way to get the 'new' logo off the headstock? I got it to be a Taylor 855 copy and that doen't have anything there. Oh, the pickguard I ordered along won't fit unfortunately Playability could be fixed, it's more to do with the fact it's a 12-string I think, it's not that it plays very heavily but pressing 2 strings at once I guess requires more effort. I'll just have to do some excercise, and see if I can adjust the action somewhat

There is one way to get the logo off, but you have to take it to very good luthier or carpenter or furniture restaurator. He must grade or shave the laquer and the logo off and cover with new right laquer. As I did with my HB CLF 200 i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p551/laits1/014_zps1a2ie1ow.jpg As you see the new laquer is´nt exactly the same color. But my worktask was easyer, ´cos I had no old logo there, I just burned the new one. If you need I can give away to you my Gibson style pickguard?

I might take it to the luthier and have him set it up correctly, as well as redo the headstock. I find the shape of the headstock is more similar to a Taylor than a Gibson headstock. Is your Gibson style pickguard the same as what is on it right now? Aren't you going to regret wanting to use it for a future project? At this dutch shop in Holland ( www.dijkmanmuziek.nl/taylor-slagplaat/ ) they sell the original Taylor pickguard. I might take it there and have them put it on.

Yes, Marit, it is the same shape exactly as on your CLJ412. I ordered it accidently for my The King, but The King has th cutaway! So I had to order another one. Probably I dont use it in the future and I´m happy to give it away. If you like Taylor style, let it go, it´s nice too. I´m sure that good luthier gives an answers to all your questions and problems. "Sugar man, your the answer to make my questions disappear!"

I can't work out how you can barre a thin bottom E A or D string when it's being protected by a big fat one. Guess I'll have to chubby up my fingers a bit. Until then, buzz ahoy!

easyrider: thank you very much for the offer anyway, but I think the stock one on my guitar doesn't look bad, does it? I really like the way your king looks with that red pickguard, it's gorgeous! Perhaps someone else on this forum can find good use in the pickguard! @defluthier: the funny thing is I have an Eko Ranger 12 string that has great playability!?

How can you squash a thin string that's lurking next to a thick one in a barre chord?

Must say I've been playing it this evening and I really like it! I like that when playing, my experience with 12 strings is that when plucking seperate strings the thin string overpowers the bass string, not with this guitar! It's definitely a very full and rich sound, really enjoying it! Planning to buy a Taylor-like truss rod cover and pickguard over at aliexpress, 2 of each for less than 5 euros total INCLUDING sending costs. Gotta love those Chinese!
