My apologies to @defjef , Rick Rubin and anyone who knows them. In my defence, it was very late when I wrote that post and I'd spent a few hours battling with technology 

MartinB The rainbow theme was the result of not having enough black paint! Makes me look very 'right-on' though. In no way is it compulsory.

Oh, it was. When I realised we didn't have enough black paint she suggested using the dregs from a few paint pots and doing the rainbow thingy.

I'm just glad she's moved on from Unicorns and My Little Pony!!
A Smurfs themed board would have been ok tho.

The Unicorn phase comes to an end at some point!? My niece has been on it for a few years now, I guess they outgrow everything at some point. But then my sister still has her security blanket somewhere, and another niece has her childhood toy rabbit.

I would laugh, but there are still a few of my old transformers at my parent's house!

Gone: the two HoTone delays, MXR envelope filter and Boss tremolo.
Replaced with: TC electronic Hall Of Fame 2, Earth Quaker Devices Dispatch Master and Old Blood Noise Endeavors Dark Star.

Done some moving around of the pedals on the small board, everything is now more or less in chain order on this board.
The Dark Star is a reverb with long trails and placed before modulation, it does some very nice things to the chorus, phaser, flanger, tremolo and vibe, somehow a more defined and detailed modulated sound.
At the end of the chain the two reverbs behind each other can give a very nice deep roominess.

What do you make of that HoF2? I nearly sent mine back but it got a reprieve once I was able to tweak the pedal sounds using the software. I didn't like the standard reverbs at all and will probably not use them unless I am bypassing my amp's preamp section and going straight into the effects loop for some reason. They seemed very digital and brittle sounding to me but I can find uses for the shimmer and the sounds in positions 1 and 2 - maybe even the one in 3.

To be honest, I only use the hall reverb on this one, this drives the Boss RV-6 (also in hall mode) to fantastic depths.

I'm more a set and forget guy. Every once in while I will tweak some pedals but more often than not once I found a setting I like I don't change it anymore.

Some updates.

EQD Afterneath and OBNE Dark Star changed places.
Boss TeraEcho replaced with the OBNE Sun Light.
Removed the Boss CE-5 and replaced it with the Mooer Ensemble Queen - The CE-5 is not bad but resembles the CE-2w too much, I wanted another chorus flavour.
Removed the EXH Canyon, it's not bad but just too polite for my liking. Also gone is the passive volume pedal.
HoTone is hot with this update. Added a Soul Press II (wah/volume/expression), a XTomp (multiple effect unit) and thanks to extra space due to the smaller SP II I could reinstate my two mini delays. (I love echo effects, one can never have too much delays and reverbs.)
Also modified a switch topper for the TCE HOF2, the switch has a larger diameter and I had to make a bigger hole inside the topper.

The Sun Light, Soul Press II and XTomp are new pedals, the other changes are from the spare pedal poule.
