The amp sounds terrific in the first half of this video:

I wish I could say the same about Chappers.... not a fan of his waffle or his riffage.

Really? He always seems very versatile to me. I feel quite sorry for Lee who always looks like he doesn't want to be found out that he only has one limited blues style. I slightly cringe when he does his demos. They seem to have a reasonable chemistry and it looks as though Lee is starting to assert his authority a bit more recently. After all it IS his shop!

I guess I'm more of a fan of limited blues styles than tappy trickery. But then most of my favourite guitarists rarely use their pinky!
The guy I do like is yer man Rabea. He is good.
In fairness though Chappers is pretty well behaved in that video.

I don't watch these YouTubers really very much. As I think I mentioned before I'm not really a 'guitarist' fan. More interested in song writing, so anyone who comes up with some interesting sounds or unusual progression always perks me up. I guess the blues is a bit limiting in that respect. I'm not keen on boundaries and the guitar world often seems the most conservative of places with terrible rules about what is acceptable; this is too jazzy, that is too pretentious, those are too many chords, it's too long.
By the way, although I skipped through the Vaporizer video, I didn't hear any pinch harmonics.

I can really imagine him using some of those ideas in a solo section of a song...if solos are still allowed.

I find him a very interesting player.

Reeves is highly inventive MartinB. He can really bring some perfect ideas to a song. It's a bit of a shame Tin Machine was such a weird band.

Yeah, I think I had their album (s?) but it didn’t really grab me. He was Bowie’s musical director for quite a long time though I think.

Good to hear it's working out for you DerAlex . I'm interested in your comments about the amp volume. I'm not sure if mine (also a 2004 model) is like your first one or like your replacement one. It's probably closer to the first one. Certainly it's loud - but not unbearably so at 7.o'clock. It depends on the pickups I use but I'd probably play it at a 8 o'clock to 9.o'clock with single coils. Definitely it's too loud at 12 o'clock though. At what point does your start to break up? Mine breaks up on single coils just before 12 oclock. The current one I have is an amazin amp -regardless of the price (but especially for that price ). Even in my small office going with the amp to 1pm on the volume it is not too loud. It is quite loud but not even close to the previous one at 7-8 o´clock. And this is what I find very disappointing - such a big variance I have never experienced before. And this is a shame because for blues/rock this is a really nice amp (with potential to be upgraded with new speakers, better reverb tank, ...). The breakup point is also around 12 o´clock on mine (with P90s). I have now a slate blue one, the previous was a red one. Which color do you have salteedog? (although I doubt it is related to the amp color but who knows?)

I have a green one. I wonder if differences between the tubes are the reason for the volume variances....
