Had a flue for 12 days now and getting better but my nose is falling off from all the snotting I dont really like the way my Mooer Reecho sounds in the FX Loop, kind of too thin! Sounds MUCH better into the front end of my small Bugera 5 watts amp! Hm, not sure why that is? This V55 amp is a completely different beast EQ-wise!

Was jamming with a mate last night and this V55 sure is loud! One thing I've noticed and made me smile was all the amp HISS was gone in the mix When I play on me lonesome at home the amp hisses when cranked but in a band situation no such thing was noticeable great! He played a bass line into his PA system and even had a keyboard line in the loop and then played some on his drum set and all went well soundwise! But the highs are too harsh I find and speaker upgrade is needed to suit my taste. I need creamy highs not spanky and in your face highs

Great amp ! Found one in my city for 300$ used. You think it's more than enough to maintain a great tone and still be heard while playing live with drums?

Yes you certainly can play over the drums with this one Bugera V55 ! Plenty of air moving around the room when cranked But "great tone" is a personal thing. This is a very clean sounding amp which is on a bright side. I need a pedal like American Sound or other amp modeling infront to give it a bit rounder bass and not so sparkly highs. You will have to "work" with "your great tone" there is NO WAY around it Many known players have a dedicated OD pedal that is ALWAYS On for a good reason = shaping their own great tone!

Did you get the American Sound yet? It might be the solution.

Are you in search of the mythical Dumble beast Che? The odd thing is that every Dumble amp was built to specs specifically designed for that player and the equipment that he used. He wouldn't even build an amp for you unless you submitted an application and he liked your music! So each one is different. By that token how can a pedal be able to 'nail the Dumble sound'? What you need is a new Mr Dumble, a Danish one - Mr Dumblesen if you will, who can listen to you and your needs, decides if he likes you and then decides he likes you so much that he wants to donate a hand built amp to you. You just need faith and a very comfortable prayer mat.

But, since we have no idea which Dumble sound these pedals 'nail' this list may be very useful or a pile of peas. It's up to you: The best 'Dumble tone' pedals.
I like the price of this one:

You can almost use it as a compressor/EQ pedal. For overdrive it has to be dialed in very carefully though.

I care little (or not at all) about Dumble amp tones, but those pedal makers claiming they do what they do actually have a very articulate "round, warm, clear, big tone" Im kind of after. Seems to my ear that The Dude really delivers let alone Mark Lettieri using it big time (also not for the Dumbleness but for its tone). But this Dude is daor so must find a cheaper solution! salteedog where is your Drive knob at ? I have mine at just shy over 10 o'clock. The Voice is at about 1 'clock (which is the Bassman territory apparently)

I run mine at about the same...1:00 for voice and drive just over 9:00. But I like to keep the treble pretty low - maybe at 10:00 or 11:00 with low and mids at 1:00 or 2:00.

I'm having a squint at mine. It seems to be set to voice 9 o'clock and drive at 1 o'clock. Low, mids and high at 11 o'clock. These were settings last used to give my little Tokai amp a bit of OD boost and when standing in for my amp as a DI box to a PA system.
I see the pedal as like having a Fender Deluxe's amp controls on a separate box. The voice dial seems to do a similar thing to the mid shift button on my Fender Champ 25SE. I was playing a Joyo Vintage Overdrive into it at the time using tele pickups.

I'm stacking up my boxes so AS gets punched by the NUX drive then AS goes into RP225 through the Bassman 59 with 4x10" and then into clean Bugera with Master to the full! I sure get a nice tone this way but will need experimenting with only the AS and OD.

What is undeniable to me is that my amp still sounds best with as little in front of it as possible at room levels. The bigger the fx chain the further away immediacy of touch seems to feel. This is far less obvious at rehearsal and gig volumes.
If you go back to Bjorn Riis's Gilmourish articles he mentions ways to try to emulate gig volumes at bedroom levels: compression and boosters for example. But, as he states, it's only ever a synthesis of the sound you would get at gig volumes.
Funnily, he doesn't mention how that affects the feel of playing at these volumes apart from the punch in the chest. I'm less interested in that than how my fingers generate sounds. It is much easier to stroke sounds out of a guitar at home levels than at full whack where both the treble and the bass seem to have far more presence and sustain has a very different response.
Anyhow, rehearsal is in an hour's time so volume to the max!
