Totally in the US. Texas to be exact. I'm at least glad to know others are in the same situation. We're all in this together lol. I just placed another order using the UPSexpress service they offer. I guess i'll find out if that extra $20 was worth it.

Cool Bongwater, I'm a Texan too. I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. From what I've read from you and Venom it seems my guitar is still overseas. I appreciate the input you guys have given! Will let you know when something changes.

The importation can also be done as a preimportation, sort of like an ESTA form but for goods, at the country of origin, although the real importation doesn't happen until it has cleared customs.

I'll keep everyone updated on my progress as well. I live on the east coast US, placed my order late last night with UPS Express as the courier. Fast turnaround, it's already at the UPS hub in Nurnberg. The weird thing is during the checkout process Thomann gave a delivery estimate of Thursday, May 21st, but I highly doubt it will arrive tomorrow.

OK, didn't think I'd be giving another update so soon but my UPS tracking number now gives a shipping estimate of Friday. Two days from now. That can't be right, can it?

I also have a very interesting update. I placed a second order on 5/16 using the UPS service they offer which was only like $10 more. The order just got dropped off at my doorstep today 5/20...... My DHL order did finally get updated to say it is being held in Chicago customs as of 5/19. It's insane that UPS moves so quickly for only $10 more. Every order I place with Thomann going foward will be with UPS shipping.

For what it may be worth for guys on their first Thomann orders to the US. My first two orders took less than 12 days. My most recent order went in on the 2nd of May. Thomann took 8 days to ship. Tracking shows 18 days in its at Frankfurt IPZ which I assume is a large warehouse with out bound shipments waiting for a shiny silver bird. Thomann has not answered my emails for any information they have on DHL. I looked on DHL for contact and they have a loop setup to blow off consumers with no real easy contact method.I know its not normal times and of course Thomanns part of the transaction was slow but was done with communication. When it gets to DHL the wheels come of the bus and the bus slides to a stop..DHL could fix this. They are charging extra. Where does that go? Rental on the warehouse for packages to sit? With aircraft sitting idle all over the world and pilots out of places to fly they could crank it up. Amazon is almost back to normal with one or two days on most items. Amazon was slammed for weeks. They even pulled "normal" inventory out of depots to make room for essentials. Amazon made it work. Hpw about it DHL? Talk to us? Ship to us?

Well, I finally got a breakthrough on my shipment. The tracking information finally changed yesterday to say that the guitar is in the possession of USPS and is being processed through US Customs. That's great news, so I'm optimistic I'll see the guitar soon. Does anyone know how long the process is of clearing US Customs? Also, I'm assuming this is a shipment I'd have to sign for? Only reason I'm curious about either of those things is that I'm leaving town Friday for the long weekend. I don't want it to show up on and get dropped on my front porch while I'm out of town. If I have to sign for it then it would be waiting for me when I got back.

Here's my tale of woe: 13 days so far and my order hasn't even left Europe. Ordered on 5/8, was shipped out 2 days later and sat at Rodgau for 8 days then finally showed up at Frankfurt, where it's been sitting for another 2 days. From what I'm hearing mine seems to be taking a very long time. I'm in Washington State, USA by the way.

Placed an order on the 16th of April. Last tracking info says “The shipment will be transported to the destination country/destination area and, from there, handed over to the delivery organization.” This is from April 20th. I’m well over a month now with my guitar in Frankfurt I guess? Thomann used to have tracking info right on their site in the customer care center when you clicked on your past orders. It appears they have removed that functionality in the past two weeks. Highly recommend you pay the difference for UPS shipping, which others on this thread state, has normal ship times. Either that or don’t bother ordering international until DHL get it together.

Well this just doesn't make any sense to me. mikec375, yours went from Rodgau to Frankfurt in 4 minutes, whereas mine took 8 1/2 days! And then yours sits at Frankfurt over a month??? Good grief, that's ridiculous! I mean, it doesn't matter what a great deal HB guitars are if your money goes out but the guitar never comes.
