Final update - Ordered two guitars late Tuesday night, shipped early Wednesday morning from Thomann using UPS Express. The difference in price was $25 ($48 for DHL, $73 for UPS). Bounced around Germany until loaded onto a plane 3 pm yesterday, landed in Kentucky around midnight, then was on a UPS truck to my house from Philly around 9 am this morning. It arrived this afternoon, or two and a half days after I placed the order.
I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it for myself, these guitars were in Germany 24 hours ago.
Off topic, but this is my first experience with Harley Benton, ordered an ST-90 strat and JB-75 bass. I have never in my 20 years of playing been more impressed with what you get for the money. The fit and finish is on par with mexican Fenders, I estimate I have about an hour of work to properly setup each guitar - not to get them playable, but to get them perfectly setup. I know this sounds like an ad, but I'm just absolutely blown away.

The CE logo just means it meets European Health & safety standards etc. Unless it's stamped, painted or stickered with the country y of origin your guess is as good as anyone's. Harley Benton as far as where they come from are a bit like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates! 🍬 That is some quick delivery and really quite unbelievable. 👍

I once saw a post about something in another forum where someone had said "it has a CE sticker on it, so it must genuine." Ermm... Nope! It's just as fake as the crap it's stuck onto!

Your 100% right with the counterfeit stuff Donut, the devious buggers copy every detail and marking. I haven't heard of counterfeit Harley Bentons as yet but stranger things happen at sea. 🥴 If they are making fake HB's Chibson must be very worried. 😊

Back up my Hard Drive? How do I put it in reverse?

i have not heard much about Chibson's in a while. I don't know if it was the price increase on them or the often poor quality and little to no recourse if you get a bad one. Of course they dropped off when Gibson was dumping inventory trying to avoid turning into a memory. I bought 2 SG's and Les Paul DC JR during that. When Gibson went on the "Authentic" Video and killed a lot of good will that could have effected the Chibson market as well. Last I heard about a Chibson some guy had one on the local Craig's list trying to trade it for a genuine Fender.. I doubt he got that deal..

Not that I have heard or seen any HB or similar brand being duplicated and sold it could happen. Here in the US some don't want to buy direct and shop on the used market or buy from in country "flippers". Even the Firewood brands get flipped at times. Today I found a old Reverb listing for a Harley Benton R-456FR BK Progressive Series selling for over $200.00 with shipping. A definite premium price for a $137.00 guitar. If guys are importing them to resell there could or may be some being bought from Asian sources made to order. Not as much room to deceive and profit as a Gibson or Fender but easier to get under the radar. I was very amused to find they knock off Rickenbackers and they get called Chickenbakers.

My entire tracking for those interested: Mo, 20.04.2020, 18:49, IPZ Frankfurt The shipment will be transported to the destination country/destination area and, from there, handed over to the delivery organization. Mo, 20.04.2020, 18:44, Rodgau, Germany The international shipment has been processed in the export parcel center Mo, 20.04.2020, 05:25, Kitzingen, Germany The international shipment has been processed in the parcel center of origin Holy crap!!! That's almost 6 weeks so far! You still haven't heard anything? Mine also have been sitting in Frankfurt FOREVER. nachosgrande used the UPS option and got his (hers?) in less than 3 days. This is total BS!!!

As of today, my guitar has had the same tracking info with the guitar in Frankfurt for 5 weeks. I have seen older posts (pre-COVID) talking about 3 week ship times to the US with DHL. Thomann told me to expect 3 weeks of delays so I am hoping I will get it next week. If not, I am contacting Thomann again and seeing about filing some kind of inquiry with DHL.

Here is the latest update on mine. Ordered April 16th and shipped on the 20th. I get that things are backed up but this idea that DHL is good with "first in' could be "last out" isn't very reassuring.

Bongwater, I think I'm in a similar situation to you. I ordered a CST-24T P90 and it shipped on April 23rd. It appears to be stuck in Frankfurt too, and the latest info I saw was "the goods have not been loaded yet and shipping may be delayed". I've emailed Thomann three different times, including the guy that's supposed to be my account rep and cannot get a reply. Of course the account rep I just emailed this morning so I may not hear from him until Monday. I was curious if anyone else here on the forum had seen that message on tracking and knew exactly what it meant? I've also heard these guitars can show up at your house and the tracking never shows a change, so I'm not sure what to think. Add me to the list. I ordered my first HB from Thomann on April 16th. It shows that it reached Frankfurt on the 20th. No movement since then. Thomann claims it flew out on the 20th and is delayed in customs on this end. DHL opened an "investigation" but so far I've heard nothing.

I have the opposite issue. According to USPS tracking, my guitar cleared customs in Chicago on 5/16. Last update was that it was in transit to next facility on May 20th. Seeing as I live about 20 miles from Chicago I assume the USPS guy is carrying it to my house on foot. And I can't fill out the form on the USPS website to see where it really is as it won't accept a foreign address as the sender.
