First impressions, not overly enamoured with the turd brown and babys*** yellow graphics paint job!
Build quality appears good, it's got some weight but not overly heavy. 🤭
Usual klon 3 knob layout, nice smooth pots, switch works nicely. Sizewise approx 4&1/2" X 3&3/4" X 1&3/4".
Having had a few hours last night and similar this morning, I can't fault it. It does the klon thing, whether you use it as a boost or a low gain OD. Again it does the klon thing into other (stacked) drives.
Comparing it to the mosky silver horse there is not a lot in it. The voice switch on the mosky adds a touch more dirt, the pegasus does not have that option. I'd say the pegasus is smoother (cleaner maybe?) when all the knobs are towards the top end. They are pretty even until you use the voice switch on the mosky. I did try thr pegasus into the mosky but as you'd expect it got very loud. I'm not sure doing that would do your amp a lot of good? Having seen photos of the guts of both these pedals, the mosky ciruit surface mount vs the pegasus both hole thru and surface mount. I'd say the pegasus probably has better build quality, in terms of it appears it would take more abuse.⚒️
Soundwise there is very little in it, obviously the silver horse has the voice switch. Mosky also do a golden horse that does not have the voice switch perhaps that is even closer to the pegasus. Leaving the voice switch aside the pegasus appears a tad smoother/cleaner it will still do the very clean pick and break up when you hit the strings firm. 😳
Whether its a psychological thing or not but because the pegasus is bigger the controls feel like they have a better sweep. Both are good pedals IMHO.
Summing up I can't fault either pedal really. The mosky may win in the paint finish dept but the pegasus as a strict klone clone edges it for me. Not that the mosky doesn't hold its own admirably. 🤔
Both will do the klon thing, both boost or OD and both stack well. Again IMHO @£20 the mosky is unbeatable value. @£34 the Pegasus is also outstanding value with a better build quality. I will add that my findings are through my amp, you may find different through your setup? 🤔
If you want a decent klon clone and can't justify the expense of a J Rocket Archer or Ryra etc, the real thing even. At around £35 The Pegasus is a no brainer, if your tight for cash or are just curios what a klon is about the Mosky either silver or gold horse are the way to go at around £18-20.
I haven't post pics or vids as there are dozen online if your going down the klon rabbit hole. 🐰 🤩
