I hadn't seen it actually, cheers. It does clear a few things up for me.

I did loads of reading/research on OD/drive pedals MartinB. Trying to find what I thought would be suitable for me. But honestly I'm not sure if I'm none the wiser! Everytime I think I've got it sussed something pops up that questions what I thought I knew. I may start referring to them as noise pedals. 🤔

I see that "That pedal show" has a 1hr25min YouTube about understanding OD/Dist/Fuzz with Josh from JHS, only problem is I don't particularly like That Pedal Show and it's 1hr25mins long!

I did watch it a while ago, it was a bit long winded at times. Some good info though, I do find it can be bit of a chore watching them.

I decided to watch it as I'm waiting in for a delivery and have a lot of time on my hands, it's not actually that bad! Maybe it's because it has Josh Scott in it and there's an agenda for them to waffle about.
*edit*
My take was that there is an almost unending amount of information on the various types of OD pedals but really you have to try them with your rig to have an idea whether it's for you or not, a big problem in our current state of affairs.

That's my take on the whole OD/distortion pedals MartinB. All you can do is read or watch reviews on the type you think will suit you. Then hopefully make a half educated guess it will work with your rig! 🤞 It becomes very subjective, Nobby likes smooth crunchy tones while Tristan likes heavily distorted metallic tones. Aloysius on the other hand prefers something in the middle. The trouble I find with it is that some pedals are claimed to be "do it all pedals" and mostly they are not. Still it's fun spending money online and waiting for you new pedal to arrive, only to discover its really disappointing! 🙄

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

Brilliant the Timmy clone Caline Pure Sky has turned up. I'll be able to compare it with the Pegasus.
Fingers crossed, I hope you're going to like it.
Coincidentally, me too, I ordered a Pure Sky yesterday.
Have you the pure sky yet? Will be interested to hear your views on it? 🤔 Apologies if you posted in a different thread and I've missed it.

Hey blindwilly3fingers , I've indeed had the Pure Sky for a couple of weeks now, and I like it a lot! It's a fantastic low gain-overdrive with only little coloration (=flat mids) and truly excellent note clarity. All clichés you hear about the Timmy are true: it doesn't really sound like a pedal, but like "more" of your amp. The Pure Sky's bass and treble work different from the real Timmy though: they're not 'cut' controls, but they work like most other pedals (able to cut and boost frequencies) which I like best tbh. It can sound a bit harsh on thin singlecoils (eG. like a strat bridge pup), but it's a blessing for vintage/darker sounding pickups (like the Roswell LAF's in my SC-550). It's a great pedal for stacking too! It totally gets along with other pedals. It's not the best clean boost I've heard though; in that department, the Mosky B-Box (BB preamp clone) and the Silver Horse (Klon Centaur clone) are much cleaner and more sparkly at zero gain. All in all a top addition to my pedal collection. Oh and it's dirt cheap. Cheapskates like me are totally into such gear
