I weakened and ordered a Joyo AC Tone! Dangle says it gives a good representation of the Vox sound. Want to learn some Rory Gallagher stuff but won't be paying a fortune for a Range master clone to go with the AC Tone! 🤭 You might appreciate this Joyo Pedal clone list blindwilly3fingers and MartinB Joyo's ACTONE is a poor man's affordable Tech 21 Liverpool which rates five stars on Amazon.com buyer/user reviews out of 10 reviews. Until I can convince my wife to append a VOX AC30 and (discontinued) Rickenbacker 325C58JG to our annual budget, which I'd back on the nose at 1000:1 as an emphatic expressed "NO!" (never) for the latter, I know which pedal I'd rather pay for. US origin products in my country are scandalously expensive as a consequence of the propped up USD vs ROW exchange rates, our import taxes, shipping including usurious single line distro mega-margins with a hefty retail margin on top of that as is customary in this land. I place my ACTONE in front of the clean channel of my 30W Blackstar Artist Blonde 6L6 valve 2x12 (Celestion V) amp which accepts pedals superbly. Although it was built with 6L6s and not EL84s for penetration of the huge US market, the result is pleasing -understatement. It sounds equally impressive DI'd as an amp sim into my Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD. Prior to acquisition of my valve amp, I used my Fender Champion 100 2x12 combo on its clean channel. Allegedly Fender designed but PRC manufactured proprietary speakers, but like everything from that amp, sounded just great to my venerable ears. My impressions has been that Joyo's American Sound sounds great through either too. All that said, I'm a pedal Gumby in my own estimation, but I know what I like, or don't. NUX's analogue Vintage OD-3 (green) is an Ibanez Tube Screamer clone. Probably my favourite of the NUX analogue pedals. If presenting now as a hackneyed echo, nevertheless it sounds great sums it up too. Similarly the NUX CH-3 Chorus (yellow), which I like a lot and use with my acoustics into my Superlux portable PA as well. I get lazy when input into my Fender Acoustasonic which has a integral dialable Chorus effect, although the NUX does do Chorus better. At home, for convenience I tend to DI rather than mic the acoustic or electric when using the PA. The NUX AS-4 (black) is good, but different from what I expected. The NUX HG-6 High Gain Distortion (red) pedal delivers just that. It does it well, but not my most used pedal as the sound of that genre of music doesn't feature often in what I play. Early Sabbath which I'd classify as heavy rock rather than metal, e.g. "Paranoid", fun to play Punk from the late 1970s, e.g. "Teenage Kicks" and some of Free's bluesy Rock "Wishing Well", "All Right Now" would be as heavy/much into (classic) distortion vs than the modern extremely high gain of that HG-6 pedal as I'd generally venture. I should have bought the NUX DS-3 Classic Distortion (orange) pedal, but it was sold out and the HG-6 was an opportunity buy at the time which was just too good to refuse. The NUX Loop Core is of course, a BOSS RC-3 clone. The Behringer SF300 Fuzz pedal is my next target pedal acquisition. Along with that, next from NUX for me is this, although it's more of a desire to explore/curiosity buy than need as I'm quite happy in my HS to continue using TS cables.

Might have to pick up a Voodoo Octave pedal at some point, wish I'd never sold my Fulltone.

DefJefThanks for the info, interestingly I can get 3 Joyo pedals for what I sold the Fulltone for, with enough left over for some take away. Altering the pedal doesn't bother me, I had to swap a cap on my Biyang Mouse as it was the wrong value.

I believe the issue on the voodoo octave DefJef mentions, was on early models 5 or 6 years ago? I got mine 2 years ago and it works how it's supposed to. When I did my due diligence (reading reviews, forums, videos) apparently a cap or something was wired wrong way round? There were numerous vids/articles etc showing how to rectify the issue. There is a seller on ebay MartinB selling the voodoo for £24-25, quite a good deal. Same place I've ordered my AC Tone from. They have quite a few Joyo pedals, it's called Shopline I think and in England. If you want a link let me know. They are also offering the Joyo new copy of the fulltone full drive 2 (mosfet) for £30.

When I checked into it I was initially put off and considering other options. After reading more it seemed most complaints were on the early sales and suggested in some that Joyo had sorted it out? I can't be 100% sure but I couldn't find reviews or vids stating the issue that were not 3-4 years old at the time. Or as you stated DefJef models that were possibly 2nd hand or again possibly old stock? It's a bit like the Behringer Hellbabe wah the early models optical sensor was either misaligned or the aperture too small and shortening the sweep? Again these complaints were 10-12 years ago. Again I couldn't find this issue mentioned in the more recent reviews. Took the gamble and the sweep on mine is fine.

Hopefully they will be MartinB? I've only just found this seller, they had 14 AC Tones available. I didn't look at stock on others. The prices are low for BNIB pedals.

Discontinued now but you can still pick them up used for around £50 is the Behringer RV600 Reverb Machine. Its basically a Verbzilla clone and does an array of reverbs including ducking and shimmer also does the stereo and trails thing too. I've had mine a good 10 years now and it still sounds/works great. That said the EHX Oceans 11 pedal is known to have one of the most authentic sounding 63 Spring drip emulations around so it's on my gas list. 👍 On NuX too.... I have the older mini "timer" (also Kokko) digital delay now rebranded Konsequent......bonus its got tap tempo on there too. What's your thoughts on the American Sound blindwilly3fingers good bad ok meh?

I think the American sound is very good Djangle. Through my set up it gives me a Fender sounding voice, I know it's supposed to emulate various Fender amps but I can't say if it's close not having those amps to compare it to? It definitely sounds like a Fender amp to me, 😉 it has a versatile range. Once I worked out the voice knob is the important bit. Tbh you could use it stand alone without any OD pedals in front of it, and get decent crunch/OD sounds. If the AC Tone is as good in terms of simulating a Vox tone, I'll be very happy. 😁

It'll be interesting to get a side by side comparison BW3F..... I use it mostly for an always on cleanish tone/low gain tone but when the gain knob is past 3 o clock it gets hissy. Also it's great pedal for making humbuckers "sparkle" a bit more.
