I've not noticed any hiss with the American sound Djangle. I have the AS set similarly to how you set the AC, I'll let you know if I get hiss and will listen closely if it is present with the AS and I've not noticed it?

Look at this on eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202669118064Don't know if these are good or even similar to what your looking for DefJef? I think 60 cycle hum (youtube) reviewed it. Have seen a few favourable reports/reviews of this brand, have no experience of it though.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

Thanks blindwilly3fingers. I was just looking at that on Aliexpress but it doesn't seem to have shimmer or those more interesting reverbs. AND they can't spell 'chorus' on it! That Behringer of Djangle's looks like it would have been good. Weird how they dropped it and replaced it with something much less useful. Oddly the Boss sounds bad in the clips I've heard. Tricky to find something that does what I need.

The hiss is only apparent when the gain is set high and I don't hear it when playing. It doesn't really bother me as I don't use it for high gain anyway and as this is an amp in a box pedal it's pretty much acting like a real amp would when cranked so I always assumed this was normal. Interesting that the Ameican sound doesn't hiss when the gain is cranked.🤔

Both pedals have a bit of a cult following and that's why the resale value is still quite high for a lowly Behringer pedal. Personally I think Behringer pedals can be a bit hit and miss at times but I've always found the footswitch and plastic casings to be pretty robust. Also haven't tried the pedal in stereo so I'll have to try it out some time in the future. All my gear is stowed away in my sisters attic at the moment as I recently sold my house.

Probably worth mentioning the battery compartment is a bit of a pain to access on Behringer pedals as it sits under the foot switch.

AC Tone arrived today just had an hours play about with it. I'm very impressed certainly a different tone/sound to the AS, lovely cleans and can get pleasantly dirty. I need some more time and different guitars with it but initial thoughts are definitely very good. Djangle it does hiss when you push the gain past 3 o'clock or last 10% or so, however you prefer to say it. I think rather than hiss it's acting like a real amp as you say. Most of my amps get a little fizzy with the gain full up but you don't hear it when playing. Not that I very often have it that high. 🙉 Hopefully get some time in the latter part of week to try it side by side with the AS. I'll also see if the AS does fizz with the gain all the way up. I didn't try any pedals into the AC again will do when time permits. I imagine it will sound very good with some reverb. 🤔

Can't argue there blindwilly3fingers......the cleans and edge of break up tones are pretty sweet for such an inexpensive pedal. What I like about these amp in a box pedals is they can usually turn an OK amp into a little tone machine.👍

I'm a convert to these amp in a box pedals, the quite boring but very clean channel on my bantamp becomes pretty damn good using them. 😁 I'm glad you said about the AC Tone Djangle, I'd never really thought of trying it and basically tried to get Marshall or Fender type sounds. Tbh after my initial play with it, I can see myself using it a lot. They really are fantastic for the price, they do seem to simulate an amp very well. 👍

I also have both the American Sound and the AC Tone pedals. I agree they are brilliant into an otherwise unexciting amp.
