Brilliant the Timmy clone Caline Pure Sky has turned up. I'll be able to compare it with the Pegasus.
Fingers crossed, I hope you're going to like it.
Coincidentally, me too, I ordered a Pure Sky yesterday.

Oh right. That'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on it @coldwar1977 . I've just done a twenty minute comparison and it's clear that there is more gain available on the Pure Sky (should you want to go there). Having the TWO eq knobs rather than just the one on the Pegasus makes it a good deal more flexible and, as a result, it was possible to dial in a tone that sounded identical to the Pegasus at the cleaner end of the scale. I was trying to NOT be getting distortion from the amp's pre tubes but from the pedals themselves although it can be tricky to know if that is what is actually happening - I may give them both a go into my super clean Fender Champ 25SE as it has a solid state pre amp and valve power amp and it is notoriously difficult to boost the pre amp into breakup for that very reason. The pedals will be able to be judged for their OWN breakup. What I did notice at higher gain levels was that the Pegasus retained quite clean spikey transients followed by distortion whilst the Pure Sky softened those initial spikes to integrate the distortion more into the overall sound. Perhaps more like a traditional distortion pedal. Neither pedal has a battery compartment and both came with a battery adapter lead for anyone who likes the bowels of their pedals out on display ( ). Maybe this is one of their greatest cost saving manouevres to keep their prices low? I'll take a look inside the Pure Sky to see if there is any potential battery room for a mod. Oh and ALL of the pots on the Pure Sky have metal shafts unlike the Pegasus which adopted a plastic one for the gain pot.

Sounds like the timmy clone is more to your liking? I know you like a couple of extra knobs! 😂 😂 😂 Am I reading it right DefJef are you sayining the timmy distorts a little more than the klone?

What ever works for you DefJef 👍 I know the klone stacks well, obviously I haven't got the timmy clone. My mate has a timmy and loves it. Are you going to keep both?

This is a good listen blindwilly3fingers . Of course here again we have no idea if any of the distortion is coming from some boosting of the front end of the amp but if we assume not, I notice a big similarity between his Blues Breaker style and the OCD style pedal - with the bonus that there is a lot more available on tap with the OCD. Out of interest I wonder which the ProCo Rat is? I'm guessing it's still in that OCD family. Now, what's strange about his Klone demonstration is that he says that you won't hear the hard clipping unless you are running the gain over 60%. So what is that distortion we are hearing? The pre amp's boosted tubes? Or does the Way Huge have more clipping than a Centaur? Hmm... Nice to hear a bit of them all together at the 15.00 mark.

JHS latest video is on topic. Well well, I had no idea that my beloved Blues Driver was a transistor based circuit!

As we have said before DefJef what amp or set up your playing it through makes a difference. Again it possibly be the trick is finding an OD that works with your set up? I agree with you on where is the distortion coming from, is it over driving or simulating overdrive? I know bugger all about the ProCo Rat I was under the impression it was a distortion pedal or am I confusing different rats? Regarding the 60% gain on the klon types I'll have to see and guess what % I have it set on? Is that 60% after unity gain or 60% of the control knob sweep? It's getting a bit techy for me now. 🥴 MartinB it's all Chinese to me, op amps, charge pumps etc might as well be talking about a central heating system! 😜
