Ordered the Te-70 Black Paisley tonight! Will wait to see how it sounds and feels before investing money into mods. I just might like the TE Roswells.
Also ordered the HB American Sound pedal, Fun Generation 5 meter cable, few HB flat patch cables and of course a 3 Pack D'addario 9's (new strings are a must with each purchase)
Will keep you posted once I get it!

But...But..But... Why buy a remains of log after it got assaulted by tractor when you can buy the state of art beauties in CST, fanfrets? I guess you could fix it by supercharging it with Greg Koch signature Fluences

I got one for Xmas as a pressy from the wife, its a nice guitar but I was surprised that the sounds from the Roswells are a bit on the dark side, great for Blues using the neck lipstick. I expected a bit of a twangy tele style in the style of me Squire but its actually become a nice little guitar in the arsenal for some of the quieter blues numbers that I am trying to produce. One thing, the D shaped neck is a brute, it took me a while to get used to as my Strats/Teles are all C shape and I can pick any of them up and just play like any of them its the same guitar, the TE 70 is a different beast altogether but brilliant at the same time.... Hope this is constructive and helpful..

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I'm surprised you're getting 'twang' from your Squier neck pickup mageo . Tele neck pickups are traditionally characteristically dark and low powered which has led to complaints from some players who attempt to improve it to their liking by removing the cover or simply replacing it with something else. Personally I love a tele neck pickup for my clean playing. A few modern jazzers love them too. Maybe yours has a ceramic magnet? They tend towards more toppiness. The 'twang' is normally associated with the bridge pickup and quite why is a can of worms that can only lead nowhere. Some say it's the presence of the plate beneath it, others the proximity of the pup to the saddles, or its hotness or the fingerstyle playing of traditional country artists, or maple or ash or......boom! It's also odd how the use of the term 'lipstick' is being applied more and more to the tele neck pickup. I reserve it for the Danelectro style pickups that were originally built using a pair of Revlon lipstick tubes. Perhaps it's because of the similar shininess. I know it has led to a fair few forum misunderstandings! Even dodgy internet purchases.

DefJef I think I will make your day you have been telling me for ages to get a Tele and here is my second try to get one (first was the Te 52 which went back to Thomann). Lets hope this one's a keeper!

I do hope so. There is something incredibly honest and straightforward about a nice tele. Finding a good one totally replaced my acoustic playing for a while as it responds to finger playing very well. I find bends more enjoyable on it than anything else too. Of course it's not as sexily shaped as a strat with it's accommodating belly carve and forearm cutaway yet I've never found it as uncomfortable as a Les Paul under my forearm. I attempted to mix the styles with a strat body shape and telecaster appointments but it has a different sound again, more tele than strat certainly, but not quite as snappy. It's close though. Make a Telemaster! Or break out the angle grinder.

I have the oder TE-70 with Wilkinson pickups. The bridge pickup is very microphonic. If the guitar strap moves a bit on the body, I can hear it through the amp So, I'm sure the Roswell are not a step backwards. Plus, I have the Roswell pickups in my TE-52, and they're just fine.

Strange for some reason the TE-70BP is back in Stock! This morning it was out of stock, now its back in stock ... hm ... my order is still on hold so am thinking that they opened a few boxes and found issues and for that reason marking it "out of stock" until they check all of them ... maybe? This might mean I will get a good one? ... maybe
